I want to give this place a better review but the prices are simply too high for the quality and portion they are serving. The oyster omelette and popcorn chicken were both good, but for the price, it should have been either elevated Taiwanese food, or came with a bigger portion size. The prices for some vegetable dishes are absolutely crazy. I would go back if they lowered prices across the board because the food is decent, but eating out here is not worth it since the atmosphere and presentation is nothing special.
This place is definitely over priced. We ordered popcorn chicken, It cost $10 and only had 10 pieces in the plate. The water spinach cost $17. A plate of vegetable cost $17!!!! Those taste are just fine, nothing special or authentic. Oyster Omelette $11, very thin layer. It is the only one taste good and authentic. Taiwanese style rice noodle taste very plaint, no flavor at all, just soy sauce and very little veggie and pork. It cost $10. We also ordered think port nuggets and rice noodles soup, Again, no flavor, just salt and soy sauce. It cost over $10.25, a medium size soup bowl. The waiter didn't come to our desk to check If everything is ok. We also had to ask for tea. There is no service at all.We are very disappointed about the food quality comparing to the price. We went there due to good google reviews. Unfortunately Google reviews are not always true.
This place use to be our spot of choice. During covid we ordered literally every weekend. Since then however the quality has suffered. The chicken and broccoli has a weird taste to it now. Very salty and seems as if it was cooked in old grease or something. This is the second or third time it has been like that so I think we are done with ordering from here. Very sad indeed.
Excellent Taiwanese food. The other place my wife and I used to frequent has come under new management and the quality has gone down. Red Onion is the go-to place now for Taiwanese cuisine. Their oyster omelet is some of the best outside NYC and definitely worth trying.
Food was Very good quality. Friendly & fast service. Will definitely return
We have been coming here off and on for years and it doesn't disappoint. My husband used to come with friends regularly, and then he brought me and it is one of my favorite Asian lunch places. I recommend the salt and pepper spare ribs. The gentleman at the front desk greets us by name, and the servers remember our preferences. Food is tasty and filling. As for price, I see other reviews say it is expensive, but I'm not sure where else I could go and for under $10 get crispy noodles, soup, a lunch entrée with fried rice if I want, and tea. Often I get another meal to take with me for dinner that evening.
Ordered take out, Chicken Thailand, Shrimp with Lobster sauce, boneless ribs, hot and sour soup, wonton soup.. Everything was Excellent. They forgot to put the ribs in my bag at pick up. But delivered them to my house:))))
Really loved the food and hospitality from the people working there. Highly recommend this place for authentic Taiwanese food.
Great taste, authentic flavors. Not the cheapest, but not expensive either. Worth it.
Good and friendly service. I enjoyed the Taiwan small eats. The Shanghai buns were not as juicy so would pass on those next time.
