I've been here countless times and keep coming back for the (refreshing) delicious beef noodle soup.I like the normal size noodles and my husband likes them extra thin. The broth isn't heavy, looks pretty clear, but is full of flavor and not overwhelming like ramen sometimes can be. One bowl is enough for me (and I've got a nice appetite) but for someone with a larger appetite it may be a little small of a portion size.We LOVE ordering the spicy beef cold appetizer. Since the cold apps are pre-made they always come out super fast and you can start enjoying your food ASAP. I love the shredded potato salad too - just like my mom used to make at home. Crispy potatoes and a little vinegar makes a great combo. We've ordered the chinese hamburger before but I can't say I'm a huge fan of them.
Loved the signature laozhou beef noodle… lamb skewers were not bad for the edison… best skewers i had were in flushing queens but these were still ok!Edit: wasnt sure how to reply to your comment… not sure if you can see the edit but what i meant for the lamb skewers was that there are other restaurants (not dun huang flushing) that makes better skewers and im not here to promote other restaurants so i wont name the other business names… personally for me if there were more cumin seasoning it would be alot better but thats my own personal preference.. otherwise everything was wonderful!
Very good food, enjoy the crispy seasoned wings I order. The Chinese Hamburger (Lamb)Was a great appetizer, would recommend
The noodle here is pretty good, probably among the best I've ever had, the only problem is the portions are little small. The lamb chop are alright and a bit expensive. Lamb skewers are above average. All in all a good restaurant.
If you're looking for a nice hearty bowl of fresh hand-pulled beef noodles, this is the place! Generous portion sizes, clean and modern environment, plenty of seating makes a wonderful dining experience. The menu specializes in authentic Chinese cuisine with a focus on the noodle bowls. There's even a window into the kitchen where you can see the chefs kneading, pulling, and cutting the noodles. The restaurant is tucked in a corner in Festival Plaza (Hmart) that can be easily missed and may be completely overshadowed by their neighboring restaurant Tasty Moment. The parking lot is big, but is always very crowded particularly on weekends, as Hmart and a variety of other food outlets are located in the same plaza and share the same lot.The reason why I'm rating 4/5 stars is because the broth, while clean & flavorful, was too salty for my taste. However, that won't deter me from coming back and trying their other dishes.
Delicious food and friendly service, but there is a chance they shared my credit card information since a $500 TV was bought at a Best Buy in East Brunswick using my credit card the day after eating here, resulting in having to cancel my credit card. I did not make any other recent purchases with this credit card prior or after eating at this restaurant. Unfortunately, I did not see the purchase immediately since I received 200 spam emails at the same time as the purchase. It looks like other reviewers have had similar experiences so there is a possibility my credit card information was shared by a worker of DunHuang Lanzhou. If you plan on eating here, I recommend paying with cash.
This is place belongs to a small chain of authentic Chinese restaurants in the NY area. The place is some, inviting and service is very good. The food is excellent. Large portions of high quality real Chinese food. Not the americanized version people are used to have. There are tables outside and it is located in the HMart Plaza
So happy a great NYC restaurant made its way down to Edison! The Chongqing Chicken has the perfect amount of numbing Sichuan peppercorns and oil. Crispy outside, juicy inside. Oil spill noodles had the perfect amount of tang. Chinese hamburger is moist. Their signature hand-pulled noodles is my girlfriend's go-to. Even the stir-fried noodles are extra and better than the take-outs. Fried bread if you are a fan of cumin. Tea is perfect to wash the spicy foods down.
First off, we love that you can see the chef making the hand pulled noodles in the restaurant. The food is great and definitely a must try if you like Chinese cuisine!
Best place in NJ for some authentic Lanzhou Noodles with great environment and decor.Place is clean without the typical wet rag smell used to wipe the tables with at other restaurants.Decor is great and vibe is casual. The noodles are absolutely perfect as well as the broth. Highly recommend!I live almost 50 miles away but will make the trip almost weekly for their food. Also conveniently located near Paris baguette, bubble tea and hmart for dessert and food shopping.Great place and cant wait to come again!
