Over battered tempura. Good takoyaki (for the East Coast)
The food quality is on and off, but generally good (it all depends on the time of the day you order it) Everything is hot and fresh but miso soup one time tasted bad.I hope they can keep up the consistency and always serve the best Japanese traditional tempura meal and miso soup.
Fantastic tempura don! Still dreaming when I can return without the strict distancing protocol! Hope we can get to eat in the food court safely because I live more than 30 miles away and I do not want it cold by the time I bring it home. FYI this is one of the worldwide locations for the original restaurant in Tokyo.
Light, crispy tempura and fresh seafood/veggies make this a must try! #2 original tendon is my go to
Terrible experience. Got the edomae tendon set to eat at the food court, but the entire dish was soggy. I waited in front of the place until my order came out, and even after eating it right when it was out, the tendon was soggy, not even hot. How can freshly done tendon, that’s fried, be so soggy, wet, and not hot. They are definitely pre-making the food or they just handed me food that was done before by accident. I don’t even recommend it to anyone that might like soggy fried foods.
Decent tempura but quite a high price. The take out set up now doesn't include the radish anymore
Here is another delightful fast food restaurant inside Mitsuwa Marketplace. We had the eel over rice. There use to be a pretty large fried unagi eel with the box set when they opened several years ago and as the years have passed, it has started to shrink with the price increase. You'll spend close to twenty. The miso was extra salty this time and wasn't good. It's still a place we go when we shop at Mitsuwa for grocery items, dry goods, and other baked goodies.
This is a small tempura stand inside Mitsuwa Market. I had the soba combo with 3 shrimp, a shishito pepper and a piece of fried seaweed. There is a bit of a wait but I liked it a lot! The Soba noodles were also very refreshing because they're served cold with a dipping sauce. The only thing is that the store didn't ask if I was eating in or out and assumed it was takeout. Otherwise the food was great!
Man. This should be the top Japanese fast take out. However, please follow the rule. I notice that they fry the food inside and then they prepare the food, they use finger to do that. Please put the kitchen gloves. After how they prepare the food, I could not order any more.
One of the better tempura places around although I truly miss the presentation of the food prior to COVID-19. I put up a picture from 2015 to show presentation then. You place an order and can take home but this food doesn’t do well as takeout. It does much better if you can eat it in the common dining space or if you’re uncomfortable with that just bring it back to your car and eat it there. The crispness of the tempura fry is what you desire and that suffers if you wait too long to eat this. So the best way to enjoy dishes from this place shuts as soon as you get your order from the kitchen. It’s not as enjoyable otherwise. The food takes about 10-15 minutes to cook and longer if the place is busy. They have gotten better with post pandemic packaging as well. They have switched to plastic containers from the styrofoam containers and they cut vent holes in the plastic cover top now.
