We went for burger night. The cauliflower appetizer was delicious. We got the Duck Burger and the Shrimp Poâ Boy. Both were outstanding. Would definitely go again.
It was my husband & my 1st time and it was delicious!! We will definitely be coming back to try other delicious appetizers & entrees.
I have mixed feelings about Orchard Park by David Burke, where I booked a reservation for my 30th birthday. The evening didn't start off strong when my group was seated right next to the kitchen. Normally, this isn't a huge issue, but the area has been experiencing multiple heat waves this summer, and I saw plenty of open tables for bigger groups. Then my group as a whole was not fond of our waitress. She seemed rather patronizing, over explaining the menu and how we should order a certain number of appetizers, multiple sides, pushing the wine menu, etc. This felt even more irritating as a few of us have been to multiple David Burke restaurants in the past in NYC and Chicago, we don't need the rundown on how it works. I'm sure she thought she was being helpful but it felt pretty condescending. Was it because we didn't look like we've been to a fancy place before or we were made of money? Truthfully, it felt like she just wanted to keep upcharging us. We much preferred the girl she was training over her. The other issue is that we felt the food was a hit or miss. The lobster dumplings were mediocre, I've had better, more robust seafood dumplings at Chinese dim sum restaurants half the price. The hipster fries were also just okay. I had the duck milanese as my main because duck is my favorite protein. But frying it that way removed any of the gaminess I love about duck and honestly tasted like it could've just been chicken. I did love the side salad it came with, we liked the crab cake app, and we LOVED the multiple sides we ordered (mushrooms were so deliciously meaty and the basil oil mashed potatoes were chef's kiss). Their Humble Pie, which is key lime pie, was also divine. I would be willing to give Orchard Park a chance again and make sure I order the right things, but overall, it didn't feel up to par with the level of food quality and service I expect from David Burke. At least some of the dishes saved the evening from being a total waste of money.
Great place. Level of service was top notch. The food is on point, every time. Well done.
Great food. The popovers were insane! I wasnât a fan of the tuna tartar as it was a little fishy tasting. However, everything else was fabulous!
I ate a few ravioli and wanted the rest packed. My friend ate all and had 2 left and wanted them packed. The waiter gave us each the wrong bag. Donât take 2 plates at the same time to pack if you canât even remember whoâs is whoâs. An almost $40 dish went home to someone else. So careless.
We went specifically for taco night. We were told that there was one choice for appetizer and only two choices for entrée and one for dessert. Very disappointing. I think there shouldâve been someway to let us know that the selections were going to be minimal. We traveled a great distance and weâre very disappointed.
I was disappointed once arriving that due to a lack of staff that there was a limited selection for Taco Thursday. Even though the waitress is very friendly and met our needs, she did not offer a menu for the tacos. I had to inquire about it. My husband and I went wanting to try the selection. The website should be updated if it was not happening or the menu was changed for such an expensive restaurant
Our server Kristina (sp?) was the highlight of our visit. She was attentive, but not overly so, very kind, and was informative about the menu. It was our anniversary and she made sure that if anything was not quite right, she made it right. The food was delicious but not enough choices for younger diners.
Service and ambience were very good. Food was overall very good and presentation was amazing. The clothesline bacon and the salmon appetizers were amazing. The carrot cake was prepared in a very unusual way.
