We don't live in Camden but we go there to visit family about twice a month and stopping at this place is a MUST when we are in the area. The food there is delicious!!! The people that work there are so friendly as well!! We usually take our food to go but they do have a really nice dine in area in case you want to relax and listen to some good music ?, they also have a bar ?. Our favorite to take home is thier chicharrones, best we have tasted in all New Jersey. So if you are nearby, I truly suggest that you give this awesome place a try. You will be extremely happy that you did!

The pork was moist better than Freddie's that's around the way. Plantains were ripe the way I like it and not greasy. Rice was dry. Oxtails very small. It's packed in there and the food was scarce at 5pm. I have two stars for the taste of pork and plantains. Portions are too small for the cost.

Went here after coming in from my flight. When we got there we were greeted nicely by Alejandro (I believe it's his name)First I noticed that he was alone manning the tables. Then we asked about the piña coladas. We were told that they were pre-made frozen ??‍♀️. We gave them a try and um yea not my cup of tea. We asked for the typical appetizer frituras pastelillos, mine and my cousin's came out fast while my aunt's took about 20 min. That's absurdd. My ham and cheese pastelillo was ciego (meaning basically empty)I understand that cheese melts but I came to have a bite of ham almost when done. So that wasn't worth it. The carne pastelillos were good. The salad of mariscos was also yummy and I will not lie the jumbo shrimp in my shrimp cocktail were perfect. I did notice that they filled the glass with lettuce with the sauce to make it seem there was more, which I kind of understand because most likely people waste it. So money is literally down the drain. My cousin had the pork chop meal which was seasoned nicely and was well worth eating. My aunt had the garlic shrimp pasta which again took longer to come out than it should've all came together.Since I disliked the piña c9lada I jad a coffee which our server "didn't know" what brand it was which we later found out its Foldgers. Its ok to admit that as long as the coffee is done right. I actually did like my coffee.Now..... something I noticed and is so disappointing and truly irresponsible of the owners/management. I looked over the check and saw the cocktail was $11 when I clearly saw in the menus handed to us it was $9. The waiter said prices changed. Ehem FIX IT!!! We patrons have no fault for you not correcting something. If you can't afford new menus use white out in the meantime. I liked the typical frituras as quick bites minus that ham and cheese one. But I give this restaurant some A for effort. I am huge on food and will always give my honest opinion. Also 15$ for a piña colada that was just sad looking and overpriced.Hope the advice is taken with a grain of salt.I attached a photo of the ham and cheese pastelillo when I opened to see.

There is aways a debate as to who has the best Hispanic food in Camden, NJ. Hands down it is Old San Juan. With its wide variety of cultural food, availability and taste it can't be beat. The dine in experience needs to step it up s often you see workers huddled up chit chatting and from what I can gather familiar or interested parties distracting workers from fully servicing customers. It is more like a 4-1/2 star rating because I'm familiar with the atmosphere but for someone new in the area it would take away from this gem in the hood.

Food was amazingly awesome!!! We will definitely return!!! & bring friends!!!?

Terrible service. The server seem in a bad mood, like the food was hers that she was serving a little bit. And just terrible. Usually the food is really good, but my experience today was terrible. Will never have the server again. She was horrible. If you don’t like your job, please find something you like to do so you don’t make other pay for your bad choices. The permit was plain, no flavor at all and it was pale like if it was boiled instead of bake. $30. In the trash

The food here is beautiful ❤️ You can smell it down the block. There were at least 10 people behind me and I wasn’t rushed at all.I was in awe of how much food it was. I met the owner who was so kind. I was just so excited really. Even the customers in line were nice. I was talking to them too! God Bless you all because y’all are amazing ?

Food was amazing !! Ali was the best server I ever had she made sure tray I was taken care of and made sure I left with a full belly and was content

Tried calling ahead of time to order food but no no one answered the phone..get there and have to wait in a long line to order your food to then have to wait long againno flavor and too soft for being a Mofongo taste like I was eating manguPeople are nice

First time I went 3 years ago the food was really good but now I'm sorry but it was horrible it didn't have no taste whatsoever. The chicken stew it was extremely red and greasy and no taste and the beef stew was salty and the salad had too much vinegar and the beans tasted only like tomato sauce. The sweet coconut tasted like ginger instead of coconutI won't visit here again. It was a complete disappointment and pricey.
