Their food is average prices are average, service was good and the outside seating was good. Better than average but not very good. The enchiladas were average, the nacho grande was very good the mack and cheese were bad. Their outside seating is very good.
I want to start off by saying that I have always loved going to the GKG and have had a few different parties or gatherings there and many Summer nights outside. Last year we had an 8th grade graduation there for my oldest daughter so this year we decided to have one again for my younger daughter since it turned out so nice. I had to ask for more chicken several times because some people arrived a little late and didn't even get a piece yet. They came out with 5 pieces and I thought that was a little odd but whatever, I know that shrinkflation is a real thing and just chalked it up as that. When it came time to pack up I asked for containers for the leftover food (rice, salad, penne) and I was told that I wasn't allowed to take the food home. I paid for the amount of food that was put out so I was a little surprised. Last year we were provided containers and took home the food that was put out for the number of guests that we paid for. Both parties there were roughly 40 - 45 people. I asked the waiter to please double check with the manager as I have never heard of such a thing. He did and he came back and said the manager said I was not allowed to. I asked him what they do with the food then and he said, "I don't know, store it or something". Now I am completely floored. Store it for what? To re-serve to other people? If they would have told me they give it to the staff or donate it somewhere, that would have been at least a little more acceptable. At least those two scenarios the people are made aware of where the food is coming from and can decide for themselves. Are they serving the leftover food to people who come in and order a meal? People who have NO idea who has been in those trays or that it was someone else's leftovers? That is just the most disgusting and unethical thing to do. When I paid the bill I did mention to the manager that now the thought of them reusing someone else's food is in my head and it is just nasty. He said oh no I have been here for 20 years and everything is made fresh. I asked again where the food goes and I still never received a straight answer. Just kept avoiding that question and no one seemed to know the answer and just kept blaming it on someone else higher up and it being their policy. So, needless to say, now I cannot go back there, not for parties or just a regular dinner. I wasn't even going to write a review but the more people I talk to about this said I should because they also think that was very odd and gross and also wrong because I did in fact pay for that food for the amount of people in our party. And there wasn't even any meat because there wasn't enough chicken in the first place, lol we are talking about rice and salad basically and a little bit of penne.
Went here to see the Three Piece Nugget band. This was our 3rd time here.. good food, better drinks, kid friendly. Beautiful outdoor patio with outside bar. This might be our new summer spot!
Fun place to hang out! My girlfriends and I stopped for lunch on our way home from Flemington. Delicious food, attentive waitstaff, relaxing and we never felt rushed to leave. We did go on Memorial Day so it wasn't too busy, but there were still quite a few people (the outdoor patio was about half full). Generous portions of food, ample parking in the back, and handicap accessible parking right up front with a ramp and steps. The outdoor bar looked pretty cool too.
Sat outside on the patio, too many tables to close together. Waiter was quick to bring our cocktails. Our late lunch was vary good. I had the classic Pete's chicken sandwich and it was as delicious as my last visit.Nice place to stop when not filled to the limit with people.
My husband and I had our rehearsal dinner on the patio and it was amazing. Such a fun night. The manager was absolutely amazing he was so helpful. The food was so good even the children had a fun time dancing to the live music. Very responsibly priced as well.
Green Knoll Grille (5/31/22) – Pars, Bogeys and Double Bogeys This was my first time back to this restaurant in 18-20 years. We would come for Monday night football or stop by after a round of golf at the Somerset County Green Knoll course on the other side of Route 287. They have a large bar area and multiple inside dining section. There is also a very large outdoor area with another bar. Their menu is diverse. Our order included an 18” cheese pizza ($18) for our appetizer, chicken enchiladas - corn tortillas with shredded chicken, sour cream, mixed jack cheese, red onions, avocado, mole sauce, with yellow rice, black bean (3/$16), Cousin Pete’s Crispy Chicken - Breaded chicken, lettuce, pickles, mayo, roll ($14) and a honey chicken salad - Grilled chicken, romaine lettuce, tomato, crispy wonton noodles, honey mustard dressing ($16.00). What I Liked: - Really not much other than our conversation with the waiter and the big red lip seat when you walk in (Par) - The price point for the 18” pizza (Par). What I Did Not Like: - The wait for our server to show up after being seated. We were about t leave when he did finally show up (Double Bogey). - The chicken enchiladas were not very good (Bogey). The mole sauce was terrible (Double Bogey). - They served draught Kane beer (Par) in a Bud Light glass (Double Bogey)! Come on man, you insulted the beer. - The pizza was heavy because of the excessive cheese and thicker dough (Bogey) - Cousin Pete’s Crispy Chicken was average at best (Par) - The honey chicken salad was not very good. The chicken tasted like a several day-old leftover chicken breast that was re-grilled and sliced. It was not eaten, taken home and thrown out. (Double Bogey) My Pizza Boss rating is 7.3/10 smiling Paisanos. I have no plans to ever come back.
Great restaurant! A nice place for a date or a reception. We just had a reception at Green Knolls Grill for our son's 1st Holy Communion. The staff was very attentive and helpful. The food was very delicious. Highly recommend.
Our first time there and the SERVICE was EXCELLENT. They told us it could be a while to get a table. It was very , very busy and it was too cold to sit outside. We were on the waiting list for 15 minutes because we didn’t have reservations . After sitting at a table near the bar, our server Toni offered to expedite our food as we had a movie to catch. She was super accommodating. We totally recommend giving this place a try. The food was very good. We will be back to give the patio and tiki bar a try soon.
I came out here for a Nissan Z series car meet this previous weekend. When I got there no one was there but then again I was a little bit too early. When it was approaching the time for it to begin and I still did not see no one there I became a little concerned. I went inside to speak with one of the staff who apparently had no clue about it. I told him according to Google events it was supposed to occur on 3/20 at this location and still nothing in his own Event Calendar. I went to use the restroom which was very clean by the way and well kept. I went outside after and saw that cars started to appear. The meet itself was in my opinion kind of small not honestly worth it because I came all the way from Queens New York for what was little less than 2 hours drive. The people were nice at the meet and found out some information that I may need in the future. Here are some photos for Z lovers like myself....
