I would have given 5 stars but there was quite a wait so overall experience was 4/5 stars. Food- 5/5 stars. Ambiance 4/5 stars. There are 2 spaces. One side is to order to go, the other is to dine in. There is also a small patio space to eat outside. My family and I wanted some good soul food while visiting the area for the first time(family trip from Michigan). The waitress was nice. The food was DELICIOUS. The service as far as timing could have been better. We arrived a couple of hours before close with a party of 7. We sat in the dining area after standing for a minute and others already seated instructed us to ignore the “wait to be seated” sign and seat ourselves. The dining area is small but soulful and comfy with good music. We ordered catfish meals, chicken and waffles, greens, Mac n cheese and yams. I had a taste for oxtails but chicken and fish was all they had left for the night. If I’m ever visiting that area again, I will definitely come back. My entire family left satisfied and full.
The food was okay, however, the service was trash and for that reason, I will not be returning. No customer service etiquette whatsoever. When I walked in the vibe was already off with the lady taking orders at the register. First off, they have 2 menus on their wall with 2 totally different prices. I asked the lady about it and she said one of the menus were old. The old menu should be taken down then because that causes confusion…anyway my food comes out and I noticed there was no cornbread so I made them aware. She goes to the back with her attitude and gets me a cold cornbread that was in the fridge. My advice to this establishment is to hire someone new to take orders because y’all are losing a lot of business. From the reviews, your past customers can attest to that.
I left my backpack by mistake on the back of a chair, realized it, called them, a young lady asked how long would it take me to come get it, I said 10 minutes. I get there a young fellow says your belongings was safe with us, nothing was touched, I was glad to hear that. I left but went only around the corber and said girl check your bag, I did and $180 dollars was missing, I did thought $100, was missing but after I counted again, it was $180. I go back, the owner says let me check my cameras, but was taking a long time, now my boyfriend is on speaker phone saying y'all better give her her money back. Long story short they didn't.
I don’t who is running this establishment but they are very incompetent, they need to stop taking door dash orders because they either can’t read or can’t handle it. Every time you order something they never send all the food. I called to ask about my order not arriving the woman was extremely nasty, raised her voice wasn’t apologetic at all and did absolutely nothing to resolve it. They will never get my business ever again!
Visited the restaurant for the first time. They forgot to give me the the two pieces of pie I paid for. I called them the same day but no one answered the phone. I got someone on the phone the next. She handed over the phone to the restaurant manager Diah, who was very rude and doesn't know how to talk. She was not apologetic for the mistakes her her staff made, but was busy trying to yell at me for not calling sooner. I live an hour and half away from the Bloomfield. Food not all that.
The food was delicious, but the customer service sucked. And this is why I'm only giving two stars. My friend and I came in was seated, the waitress never asked if we needed water or anything to drink. After 40 minutes of just sitting there, we flagged her down in the empty restaurant and let her know we was ready to order. We asked for water, that took another 15 minutes. We basically say there for a hour and a half before receiving our dinner. It's very unfortunate, either they need more help or better management. It seems if you come in to sit and eat you're their last priority since their main focus is on takeout line. And to top it off I asked for cornbread the waitress told me they were low on it and I should have came earlier. Umm excuse me?!?!? I will not be back due to their poor customer service and extremely long wait times. Please train your staff and hire more people to handle both seated paying customers and take out.
I’ve been patronizing Juke Joint for years because although the customer service is atrocious, the food was good. Here lately, for the Tuesday special, my food isn’t freshly made, my assumption is, it was left over from Sunday and warmed up. They NEVER tell you what meats they have on a daily basis unless you ask. Now, he’s opening a sandwich store. Prayerfully he’ll hire professional, friendly people and the food is fresh DAILY.
They have really good food but I am disappointed because I waited and hour and a half for two dinners and two uptown’s. No uptown’s and one of my dinners which was a wing dinner with Mac andCheese and collard greens came with just Mac and cheese. If it was because you ran out of food, give the customer a chance to choose something else. Restaurants have to mindful that people “choose” to spend their money with them. I only complain because this isn’t the first strike, I am tired and my mouth is dry from having nothing to drink.
Okay so I order my food at 8pm I didn’t arrive until 8:30 because I was told the order would take 45mins. However I didn’t leave the restaurant until after 9pm. I wasn’t made aware of just how much food was unavailable until i arrived. There was no Mac & cheese , no collard greens, cornbread or yams. Once I got home to eat my food I was disgustingly surprised at the portion amount. I literally paid 21 dollars for a rib platter that looked like four pieces of rib nuggets! I was highly recommended this restaurant and my experience was NOT PLEASANT AT ALL !
The food used to be amazing but the past two times I had the food, I was disappointed. The Mac and Cheese don't have enough cheese and too much egg. On Wednesdays, the specials taste like leftovers.
