Despite the empty restaurant, 30 minutes went by each time the waitress checked in on us - with only one other customer present. When multiple errors were made, the waitress did not address them - aside from offering cold shredded cheese to make up for a "cheeseburger".
I truly believe that this place does not care anymore. We came here for dinner at 545 on a Sunday, and it was dead... Maybe 1/3 or les of the tables were filled. We walked in and were seated immediately. Stared looking at the menu, waitress comes by about 5 minutes later, took our drink order, and it seemed like she could not wait to leave our table! As soon as we gave her our drinks 2 waters and a sweet ice tea, she turned and left so fast. My wife wanted to put my kids dinner order in right away, but she was gone. She actually left as she was talking. I tried calling her back but she was too far gone. It took about 10 minutes for 2 waters and an ice tea... 10 minutes... Crazy long time. She gave us our drinks and took our dinner order. Wife got the grilled cheese kids meal for our son. She got a chicken Caesar salad for an entrée. I ordered the salmon sliders for an appetizer, she immediately said let me go put those in. I spoke over her and said I would like to order an entrée as well. I got the ribeye steak medium rare with a baked potato and steamed broccoli. I also got a French Onion Soup. She had a cute remark about saying M/R was the only way to eat steak and I said of course! Wife asked to bring out the soup and the kids meal and my salmon sliders first. She said no problem. From that point on, a 20 top table came in, and we barely saw our waitress anymore... They brought out the 3 items. Kid started eating because he is 1 and was getting antsy... Wife liked the soup! Salmon sliders were meh. No flavor and overcooked... I added SnP and I squeezed some Lemon over it, and it was ok. A bus boy brought us our meal.. By the time that I checked my steak and saw that it was WELL DONE, he was gone as well... I tried flagging down anyone, but there was no staff to be seen. I wanted to wait longer, but my kid was almost done eating which meant we had to be done as well. I sadly had to eat it... Tons of salt later and drowning in A1, it was ok. The broccoli was not cooked enough. Baked potato was ok, but by the time that our waitress came and asked how everything was, my steak was gone and I asked for butter and sour cream for the potato, she apologized that I wasn't given it automatically. We also asked for refills on our drinks because they were empty for about a half hour by this point. Instead of getting our drinks, she proceeds to take 2 tables orders... She saw the empty cups on the table... Think a little... When she came back with the boxes and butter and sour cream, we asked her for the check. ********************************************************************************************************************************** *********************WARNING!!!!!!!****************************************************************************************************************************************************************** a 20% gratuity is automatically added to any check over $75 or groups of 5 or more... And you cannot adjust it! We planned on leaving a 10-15% tip because of how inattentive our waitress was, but we did not have a choice in the matter. 20% was automatically added to our bill. Our bill was $72, not $75. I went up to pay, and she said it automatically gets added to every bill no matter what and they cannot take it off. The cashier was very snobby and nasty about it. She even said that they put it in really fine print on the menu do people don't see it on purpose. I said I wanted to leave cash tip on the table, she said that I can on top of the gratuity... I heard my kid scream a little so I said forget about it and paid and left. This place is such a scam... Mediocre food, terrible service, and they scam you by forcing you to pay %20 gratuity no matter what. I know businesses are hurting, but screwing over your customers is not the way to do it... DO NOT COME HERE.
The place is empty! Food is disgusting! The can’t follow a simple order like no onions on salad! There was a big two tables seated when I was there and they still couldn’t get it correct! Overly priced for fast food quality food. Waste of an eating out night.
I was so disappointed. I order a mango salmon salad. It was supposed to be served with arugula mix greens , radicchio, mango , walnuts and salmon. Instead I got spinach, mushrooms, cucumbers, tomatoes and salmon. At first I though okay they ran out of arugula but then as I was looking around the salad I notice the mushrooms. I’m glad I’m not allergic to it but in other peoples cases they should’ve said to customers they didn’t have that plate or if they wanted a substitute for the greens. I even tried the salad and it was by far the worse salad I’ve ever had. The salmon tasted old and all the combinations they put it the salad just didn’t taste right. I will definitely not be coming back. Oh , and the bathrooms…. Jesus someone clean the toilet bases Disgusting!
This is a place I have frequently visited because I find the food to be very tasty and well Prepared, but after today I will never ever go back there my service today was the worst I have experienced anywhere the waitress was horrible I think she was high or something because every two minutes after I ordered the first thing that I wanted she kept coming back asking me are you ready to order are you ready to order as if she was rushing me which is fine if the place was busy but it was not not like it normally is in any event she got mad because I told her I wasn't ready the final time and went to another waitress and asked them to take over my table and then she went to proceed to fix napkins forks and spoons I done waited another 20 minutes before the manager notice that I was unhappy and came over and got another waitress to stop and she was doing to come and help me I did not catch her name but I left her a $20 tip just because she stopped what she was doing to actually come and help and then came back and apologized for the other waitresses Behavior then upon me getting home the food I ordered was not prepared correctly totally disgusted I will never ever go back there again and I will also be letting everyone I know that goes there what happened to me today
My second visit. I was dying for French Toast and was super impressed at how good it was along with eggs over easy, pork sausage (you can get beef as well) and some very hot and delicious coffee. The server James was polished and professional and took good care of me. I'll be back soon!
Writing this review out of concern for other patrons. We had lunch here today and witnessed several staff, though mainly two young women, practicing very unsafe and unsanitary habits. Amongst masks that remained under their chins, these women were licking/putting their fingers in their mouths/food containers, eating and drinking food/drinks, sharing food, coughing, and touching their face/mouth/straws while preparing and handling food/drinks for customers. In speaking with the manager to give feedback about the concern, he was quiet, and for the remaining 25 minutes before leaving, it didn’t not appear anything was said to these women as the behavior continued. Staff training on not only customer service but also health practices would be paramount, especially in today’s climate where cleanliness cannot be overlooked. 1 star only because one of the two dishes were flavorful and our waitress was great, though there has been a great decline in service and food taste over the past 10 plus years we’ve been frequenting State Street. For the sake of staff and customers, I hope these concerns are taken very seriously.

When I was here for brunch with my co-workers we saw what seemed to be a dead rodent by a set of stairs. We didn’t say anything because we didn’t want to draw attention to something that we could be wrong to, but then we noticed that it was barely alive and still twitching. We were so disgusted that we left before we even got our food. This place is going down hill! I use to eat here religiously since I was a young girl… it’s definitely an issue with the owner. STAY AWAY!
