When we arrived the not so peppy/friendly young lady at the front acted like she had to âfit us inâ and go search for a table, even though we had a reservation & the restaurant was majority empty. I took my mom here for her birthday dinner. We shared the bacon wrapped shrimp, which was delicious & came in an apricot-like sauce. The perfect mix of salty and sweet! My mom raved over the salmon and mashed potatoes! I ordered a lobster roll (my reason for choosing Water Dog)- the lobster itself was succulent and buttery, but apparently it sat a while before the server bought it out, so the bun was super soggy when it arrived. I couldnât even pick it up, as it was falling apart. Our waitress, who was fantastic (super pleasant and attentive) bought me a new roll, but it wasnât toasted, so I didnât get the lobster roll dinner experience I was looking forward to. Ambiance was nice. Quiet. I would recommend and hope to return.
Fantastic server and great customer service. Three out of four ordered something different and it was very good.
We've always had a great breakfast here. Server Tom is terrific & takes great care of us
I think it is expensive for what you get and the service wasnât very good.
The food was absolutely awful and would definitely never eat there again. Everything must be frozen in a box and they microwave and serve. The server did his best but they were way understaffed. I wouldn't recommend that restaurant to anyone. Better off getting a slice of pizza on the boardwalk.
Frankly, this was not a good dining experience. I had the pastrami sandwich & fries, the wife had a brisket sandwich with onion rings. Both had clearly been sitting under a heat lamp for hours. My pastrami was lifeless & dry, pretty sure the brisket had been made in a crock-pot, it looked & tasted more like pot roast. Fries & onion rings were lower tier Sysco quality. I received a different beer than I had ordered, but I just went with it, small issue. Our waiter was fine, but there was a good bit of "staff drama" with various employees having conflicts, one even sprinting though the dining area several times. This was at 3:00 in the afternoon, the restaurant was not busy. I did not come to Water Dog for a fine dining experience, but for a $100 lunch, I hoped for a much better meal.
Server herself was great and polite. However we ordered the 4 person bottomless mimosa, $88. 20 minute later we are told that the price went up and itâs $29 per person. We decline due to 30% increase. Order different drinks. Took 45 minutes from the time we sat until we had our first beverage and the place wasnât that busy. Turned into 2+ hour ordeal to get brunch and came out to $170 for 2 sandwiches, one breakfast, one poke bowl and 4 cocktails. Manager was on a power trip with perm b face. Would not return next time. Donât need the airtime on vacation especially when all we wanted was the drink price listed on their hard copy menu.
Bacon wrapped shrimp, crab cakes , and mussels were amazing
Service was bad and slow from the time we were seated at our table- waiter was rude and didnât take everyoneâs drink order, we had to stop him to get everyoneâs drink order then he acted like it was putting him out to finish. Brought out appetizers and never brought enough silverware for everyone at the table. After getting manager to split check they automatically added the tip to the second part of the bill and said it was due to us having 6 people at our table.
Food was very good, but coffee pricing was a bit crazy. Waiter was very friendly and attentive, but check in ignored us for quite some time.
