Excellent Italian food outstanding appetizers like stuffed Artichoke just like mama used to make, fried calamari very lightly floured and fried perfectly. Escarole and beans Omg. Sausage and broccoli rabe could not have been better and long hots stuffed with cheese and tomato gravy yes gravy. For dinner the Braciola was perfect and a special. Also Tender veal topped with roasted peppers broccoli rabe and sharp provolone was too good veal parm was outstanding as well the dinner entrees took a little time to come out but well worth the time finish off with lemon cello cake and tartufo for dessert and what a meal. Don’t wait two hours anywhere else on a weekend at the shore try this place you won’t regret it.
My son and I had dinner here and it was fantastic. I am not an Italian expert but I do think maggianos and Olive Garden are terrible if that helps to assess where my bar is.It is a whole in the wall with a broad menu. I would love to go back and try other things!
It’s a mom pop kind a place , but the food is delicious. They also customize what you want. That means it cooked to order. We are Italian and hard to please. But this is really old school cooking like in Italy. The atmosphere is very homey .
We had dinner last night at Scannichios for the first time and we really found everything to be very good. Waitstaff was really pleasant, quality of food was great and just a nice relaxing dining experience. Great chicken and veal parmigiana. Table next to us were regulars and told us you never need to use a knife; but I did to avoid getting sauce on me (lol). It’s a small place but glad to find a local neighborhood place that I know I will return to on a regular basis !

Amazing food and very friendly staff. Our experience here was great and we loved that the location was a bit more isolated from all the craziness around the boardwalk.
You’d never know it until you experience it!! Awesome food! Awesome staff! A gem of a hole in the wall! Bypass all of the overpriced restaurants and casino foods for a local place - so glad that we did!
