I had the Delmonico ribeye (cooked medium and then "Pittsburghed" for extra char) and the Pommes Soufflé. It was all delicious. The steak was tender and flavorful with an outward crispiness from the char. The fries were lightly salted, crispy and cut almost as thin as potato chips. My table needed a second order of them, because one was not enough. I ate until I was painfully full and then kept going. Can't wait to go back!Side note: Make sure to make a reservation. They're popular!
Established in 1912, originally as a private club, The Knife & Fork Inn is part of Atlantic City history. Anthony Bourdain's New Jersey episode brought me here. The upstairs dinning room was lush! I have added no photos of it here; you'll have to experience it for yourself! The food was superb (the Kobe sliders were grand, as was the pork chop). I didn't order dessert as I was full after the dinner and the many beers I had. It was an experience being here and the service was excellent, attentive and charming. *****
I recently tried Knife and Fork Inn for the first time while visiting AC for a week. This was on my list of places to try and I am so glad I stopped in on a Wednesday evening for dinner! I was able to quickly be sat for a table for one. The server was friendly, bus person always had my water glass filled, and overall I loved my experience. I could feel the history of the building which was great! I chatted with the server about some menu options and she recommended the Knife and Fork Inn dinner, which included 3 courses, an excellent and tasty crab chowder, a fresh tomato and mozzarella salad (I actually typically dislike tomato but was able to surprisingly enjoy the dish), and then filet Mignon and lobster thermidor, their signature dish. I can see why, as it was so delicious, lobster was cooked perfectly, it was so flavorful and perfectly seasoned, and I loved every bite! The steak was cooked well, I asked for medium and it was mostly spot on, it was so tender, and tasted so fresh! My side was good too like a pillowy french fry. I would definitely return and recommend to others. The prices were reasonable in comparison to casino restaurants and everything was so fresh and delicious! Even my creme brule dessert was awesome! Awesome dinner and can't wait to visit again some day!
Restaurant is small, but food and service were great! Good options for everyone, seafood was fresh and delicious!
We were six family members who ordered appetizers, drinks, entrees and dessert. Service was good and each course came to the table nicely paced. Unfortunately, the steaks were not juicy and close to dry. The banana chocolate burrito desserts were difficult to eat without a knife and tasteless. Wish the dessert menu had better choices.
OK, so we haven't been going there for 110 years, but it's obvious why they've been around for that long. Since we hadn't been there in awhile, we took a drive down there for dinner. My wife really liked her filet and the goat cheese au gratin potatoes. Driving down, I had in my mind I was going to have a steak but when we were walking to our table, I saw the rack of lamb, which looked enticing. I couldn't decide, so I told Suzi (our server) to surprise me and bring either the barrell cut rib eye or the lamb. The lamb was delicious. The servcie is superb; exactly what you'd expect from a place like this. The team was friendly, attentive, the food runners did not auction off the food and Suzi, her trainee and the manager checked back throughout the night to make sure things were OK. Since this is a TRUE gourmet restaurant, the prices are what you'd expect, but well worth every penny. Too bad we live an hour away; we'd like to come back more often. When in AC, this is a MUST; a true legendary restaurant that knows how to do it right.
No wonder they have been around since 1912. Nice place to escape the casino venues of Atlantic City within walking distance of the boardwalk. The service was great for a full restaurant. Portions are more than filling.
We stopped by for happy hour and had 1/2 price drinks and appetizers. We love the Kobe beef mini burgers and oysters. We sat at the bar, loved the atmosphere and service. Has so much charm and history. Staff very attentive.
Drinks were delicious.. oysters w Cilantro dipping sauce amazing.. and the Lobster bisque soup was outstanding (too much to eat at one sitting ..needed to take some home) for dinner we had scallops w pumpkin raviolis (delicious) & venison chops w sweet potatoes fries (so delicious) we are looking forward to coming back... and as a finally we had Key Lime Pie w Coconut Chocolate Chip Ice Cream (Amazing!!) Carmine our waiter was the best ... super attentive and had great suggestions ?
One of our favorite restaurants in ACNJ. Service is always exceptional and food never disappoints. Lobster Thermidor is a staple and well loved by patrons including us.
