Kelsey's never disappoints! Always delicious! We went on a Thursday evening and got in right before the line started forming around the block. My favorite is the fried chicken, mac n cheese and yams. Our server was fantastic! She made all of our requests happen. She was very kind.Always so good!

Kelsey’s never disappoints! We enjoyed a yummy brunch with endless fresh choices including made to order omelettes waffles and fish. The staff was friendly and engaging, and the music was enjoyable. The environment was festive and clean. The food was awesome!

Excellent food! Soul food at it's best! Perfect balance of seasoned collard greens & green beans...candied yams melts perfect sweetness! We had a great server! The summer is hot so the inside temp could have been adjusted & a bit of wait before entering! Priced right! Nice ambiance & culturally rich!

The food was delicious. Everything was fresh and the proportions are enough for two. The waffle was fluffy and you could taste the vanilla. The chicken was crispy but bland, however went well with the waffle. The sweet tea is delicious but beware it is considered a special drink and you are not allowed refills. We waited in line for over an hour. We were greeted several times by the derelicts of the city while waiting. Overall the food is good.

I had a exciting time at Kelsey's. I had to wait in line to get but it was worth it. The atmosphere was energetic. The waitress was very friendly and helpful. The food was delicious and tasty. I order the corn bread Basket which was very good. I also order the smothered Turkey chops with onions. My sides was potato salad and candied yams. Every thing was very good.

Family visit for dinner (party of 4). Restaurant opens at 4pm and doesn't take reservations. We arrived a few minutes before 4pm and waited in line until the doors opened. We were seated by 4:15pm. Service was excellent. We ordered fried chicken platter, fried fish (whiting) platter and chicken and waffles. Food was fantastic! Fried chicken was delicious. Sides were collard greens, potato salad, cole slaw, mac n cheese and cornbread. All sides were excellent except I was expecting the mac n cheese to be better. Left with to go containers. Overall a great experience! Will definitely return.

the good - Our server was GREAT, very friendly and attentive. Our food was GREAT. We were a party of 6 men and women (no kids) ages 50 - 78 and everyone loved their meal. the entertainment was EXCELLENT...(I came specifically to hear a friend of mine sing there so I am bias on the entertainment) the bad - no designated free parking but we paid $7.00 in the adjacent lot so it worked out. I also wish they would have a dress code (but thats just me...im religious, bougie, and old school). The DJ in the adjacent Kelseys open lot played music that was less than desirable/offensive and hooka is offered. that is for somebody but def not me nor the folks with me...no thanks. I prefer more of a family friendly atmosphere or if grown and sexy still keep it classy and clean because you"ll attract a certain crowd with that hooka nonsense and foul music imo. the ugly - my friends 1st set was to start at 6 pm. we arrived at 5:30 pm (they opened at 4 pm) they don't take reservations, I couldn't get through to anyone via telephone prior to arriving, after driving about 1 hour to get there, we stood outside the restaurant in line for 2 HOURS just to be seated which means I missed my friends 1st set but thankfully I made the 2nd and as mentioned above, the food and service were very good. I dont know who ruined it for the rest of us but, Please bring back reservations!! that way i can come back in the future and instead of waiting outside with people smoking weed while in line, we can go right into the restaurant.

I read many reviews and saw a Tik tok prior to my visit to AC. They open Wednesday thru the weekend. There was a line to get in however I was solo so I took seating at the bar which was available right away. The bartender was amazing and provided great recommendations. The food was freshly cooked and came out in a good amount of time. I was disappointed there were no desserts on this evening. A nice soul food touch in AC. I would recommend and go again if I visit again.

June 18 2022 6:20pm we got our corn bread and plates. No utensils. After 10 minutes we got them. The cornbread is delicious. I ordered seared lump and super lump crab cakes. The menu said very little. I got my crab cakes and I ate 75 percent of one. I normally don’t say much about my food. I showed the waiter my crab cake. She said that she’ll get the manager for me. Karen the manager came over and I said what the menu advertised and this is not what they say. I cut open the other crab cake. I said this is over 50 percent filler. She said there is crab meat there. I said yes it is but do you see all of the filler. She took the plate and said that she will take it to the kitchen. The manager came back and said that I will have to be charged for the one crab cake and they will take the other off the check. This will be my last time here. Any other restaurant would have taken care of it all.

Upon the advice of reviews, my wife my daughter and I were excitedly awaiting a meal of down home Southern soul food. By far the reviews suggested that Kelsey’s was the place we were looking for. We did our research to reserve a table. When we checked the website the page stated that no new reservations would be accepted, but previous ones would be honored. On the date of our visit we attempted to call the restaurant to see if we could order. Repeated calls and texts only resulted in busy signals. When we finally got the answering machine, the message was different then than the webpage. That message stated that they would only accept reservations if there were 11 or more in the party. We weren’t deterred from eating there, so we went to the restaurant and got in line to wait. In line with us were a number of customers ( would also did not have reservations). After waiting an hour and 45 minutes we made it to the door of the restaurant. When the hostess addressed us she asked if we had a reservation. We replied no, since we did not. She then proceeded to tell us that since we had no reservations we would have to wait at least another hour despite the fact that at least 10 customers had just left the restaurant. When we noted that the website stated that the establishment was first-come first served, she stated she could only seat those with a reservation. We were beside ourselves. We had stood in line for nothing. I got the impression that the hostess could not have cared less. Her only response was you don’t have a reservation so I can’t seat you. After waiting 1:45 minutes, it just didn’t seen right to have to wait another hour. I would have liked to say that the restaurant met my expectations, the music was excellent and the food rewarding. However the only thing I took with me from this experience is an empty stomach and a disappointment in Kelsey’s. To the owners of Kelsey’s, I would say this: I have always supported minority-owned businesses, and I will continue to do so. However, that’s extremely frustrating when you can’t even get in the door. Harve A. Mooney
