We came for happy hour before going for a full dinner. Oysters were fresh, great ambience. But, need to line up to get a seat. Very popular eatery in AC.
We had the calamari and crab cakes as an appetizer . The calamari was so light and crunchy and the crab cakes were off the chain. The lobster Mac and cheese is good except it didnt fill me up so if you’re looking for a meal that fills you up, the lobster Mac and cheese won’t do you lol.I had the cream brûlée , it was great but I loved the apple crisp dessert more. The apples are also Granny Smith apples so they are a little tart. Eat the ice cream with the apple crispy in moderation if you’re not a fan of tart stuff. Also , if you want potato fries , get the regular … not the shoestring . We were misled by our waitress about that but out of everything . The food was amazing 10/10 and the service was wonderful. Coming back here every time I’m around AC.
I went to this restaurant on a Monday night and it was packed. I would up sitting at the bar. The food and service were excellent. I had the Potato Crusted Flounder. It was very good! Be sure to get a reservation before you go. This place is always crowded.
Delectable meal our one & only daughter's favorite food are oysters and she enjoyed the ones she had ordered (there were four of us, her dad and her boyfriend were with us) We ordered other items from the menu and truly enjoyed the dinner and experience, with the lovely bonus of a wonderful pianist!
The oyster house is one of the oldest restaurants in Atlantic City. It was passed down through generations. The restaurant looks modern, there is a piano bar, and 2 floors of dining. We ordered the oysters, the flounder and one of the specials of the night for main course. The food was delicious, service was fast. I recommend making reservations in advance as it was crowded on a Tuesday night. The restaurant is also located 2-3 blocks away from the Caesars Casino/Boardwalk, so walk with someone after dark, as certain areas can be sketchy. Overall we had a great time, would recommend the restaurant to anyone visiting Atlantic City!
Classic old school restaurant. Very busy place, eclectic crowd. Plenty of seating. We didn’t have a reservation but we were seated within minutes. Attentive waitstaff even though they were swamped. I tried the crab stuff flounder and a bowl of Maine chowder. Both were fantastic. The flounder had a nice cream sauce and lots of crabmeat! The Maine chowder was very light, white base with fresh clams, celery and potatoes. Both dishes were seasoned nicely. Prices were reasonable compared to other restaurants in the area. Good value for the money.
After hearing about Dock's from so many locals and visitors over the years, and after seeing it featured on Anthony Bourdain's show, I finally got to experience the one and only Dock's Oyster House for the first time ever thanks to my husband. Not only was it my first time but it was extra special because it was an impromptu anniversary dinner for us.You walk in and it's like "WOW! So THIS is what the hype is about!" And then you continue to walk through the restaurant to your table and it's like "Oh my God! This is amazing! I can't believe I get to eat here!"The ambiance is... beyond the description of mere words. There's literally the hull of a boat as the entire second floor! Plus an actual lifeboat on the wall. The decor sings "you're in Atlantic City and don't you forget it!" Its absolutely beautiful. The staff is very on point. Our server was Taj and he was superb! The Sangria and Honey Bee cocktails were a great aperitif to our meal. My husband is not the biggest fan of squid but their Fried Calamari really won him over and that is saying something. The Beet Salad and the Whitefish Dip are also praiseworthy. The Branzino and Potato Crusted Flounder are out of this world! I don't even like quinoa but I didn't want to stop eating it.Finally the perfect end to the meal were the Cream Cheese Pie with sorbet and Banana Cream Pie.THANK YOU DOCK'S!As an AC local and Google reviewer, eating at your restaurant has always been a huge bucket list item, I just didn't expect to love it as much as we did!
Came here Saturday night for dinner—thank goodness we had reservations because the place was packed! Cute vibe inside. Since our table wasn’t ready because we came a bit early, we decided to grab drinks at the bar. The drinks were AWFUL!! Our mojitos tasted like straight up lime juice which was super sour—when I flagged down the bartender, he assured us that he used Bacardi rum—which we barely tasted. The Moscow Mule was also horrible—overloaded with ginger beer and tons of lime. All four of us disliked our cocktail drinks. At the table, we were still disappointed with our drinks. Luckily, the food here was quite delicious, which made it a bit more enjoyable. HIGHLY RECOMMEND the Bronzino and Grilled Octopus—both well flavored and so delicious!!! The Crabcakes, Salmon Special and Raw Oysters were good too!
Woe. Amazing food all the way around and the price... you can't beat. I would (and have) paid 2x+ more for what we got. High quality seafood and great cocktails. Can't wait to be back
Such a great atmosphere! Dim lighting, great music, a very intimate setting. I went for the oysters and they were plump, juicy and delicious. The pinot was chilled to perfection and complimented them well. My server had a wonderful french accent which added to the vibe and who was very knowledgeable of the menu and the specials, very attentive and polite. Can't wait to return!
