Had a very pleasant dining experience. The food and service were exceptional . I will definitely return and suggest friends and family members to visit as well.
Service was wonderful. Disappointed in the food - very salty (and I like salt). Sent back the Veal Porterhouse (salty). Filet was charred beautifully, again, with too much salt. Same with the croquettes and mushrooms. Cuts of meat looked beautiful and the dishes came out looking great - it is like they took a wonderful recipe and just kept adding salt. Broccoli Rabe was wonderful. Why so much salt?? One other thing: While the place looked as classy as they claimed, in the open kitchen, the chefs would yell out numbers when dishes were ready. Really?? That ruins/cheapens the ambiance. $300 later, we were very disappointed.
Huge disappointment! Had 3 nights in AC = 3 elegant dinners and this was the worst one! The calamari and shrimp app was fishy and the calamari was chewy. My husband’s steak, was tough and fatty. He ordered it medium, it was blood red rare, came back and was well. No-one ever asked him to cut in to it, etc. I ordered the lobster bake, I was so disappointed! I was looking forward to seafood and this was just bad! The lobster was so tough, it was like chewing gum and I couldn’t eat it. Creamed spinach was bland and boring but better than the main courses. We had Artan and he lacked the skills to be at a high end restaurant. Didn’t check on us, especially to see how the steak was, someone else brought it out after charring it. Don’t let the pretty pics posted here fool you!
We had dinner at Council Oak Steaks & Seafood restaurant inside the Hard Rock Hotel Atlantic City. It’s summer in AC, very crowded, so its best to make a reservation. I was surprised at how large the dining space was on the inside, plenty of private dining area as well with glass walls. An upscale contemporary look to the décor. My lemon drop martini was excellent and my husband enjoyed his bourbon drink. We had filet and seabass for our meals and the food was delicious. The service was excellent as it should be for upscale dining. Council Oak is on my return list.
Everything was delicious and our server Sydney was the best! It was very busy when we dined in but she made sure to keep checking on us and suggested some very good items from the menu. From the apps to the dessert. Ribeye was phenomenal, desserts to die for! I had the chocolate mousse cake, the sorbet, & cheesecake, it was all so good. Can’t wait to go back!
Can’t say enough good things about our dinner. Tried several entrées. Scallops outstanding and filet mignon best I’ve had in a very long time. Darryn was our waiter, he was very personable and attentive.

A really fine dining experience. Great bar with perfect Manhattans. The live music was world class, the restaurant beautiful and clean, service spot on, food delicious, and rest rooms spotless. Will be returning this summer!
The green beans were great... the gratin had too much salt. I felt my steak was more rare than mid rare. Picture was towards end of meal. The saving grace was the waiter. He went above and beyond. 5 stars for the waitstaff!
Council Oak is amazing. I had THE most delicious aged Ribeye steak, literally in my 52 years of existence. My fiance had THE most delicious Salmon dinner ever. Victoria, our liason to the kitchen and bar, made this experience one in which she literally celebrated our special event as if it were her pleasure (not just another work night). I highly recommend having dinner here, should you be in Atlantic City area. Great atmosphere.
