A decent spot for bar food and drinks! We went during a time when it wasn't busy at all. They have a pretty wide selection of beer and a good looking food menu. The wings were pretty good - flavorful and crispy, but not as juicy as I would like.
A cool vibe and great space, and fun for dogs and kids — but *not* if you have both. The dog-friendly space is a no-kid zone (even an infant in a stroller). And the kid-friendly space is a no-dog zone.Awesome spot if you have one, but not both! Also, no kids of any age after 5pm. Learned all this the hard way, so wanted share with other parents.
What a great nostalgic place to visit. Also Asbury Park is so much fun. Our waitress was great and the food was awesome
My wife and I drove an hour to visit the wonder bar. We had read good things about it. When we got there they charged us $10 per person to get in. My wife and I brought our dog in. I went to the bar to get us some drinks while my wife and dog mingled with others. Our dog is a little shy until she gets to know other people and dogs, one dog wouldn’t leave her alone and she growled at it. Immediately the, I’m tougher than you, dog bouncer lady kicked us out! Would not let us take our drinks, and would not give us our money back. Per the website there is a doggie time out area that they claim to put your dog in if it needs to be separated from other dogs for a bit. We were never given that option. We were just thrown out! We were not even in there 5 minutes! They essentially stole $40 from us (admission and drinks). We will never go back for any reason. As a matter of fact we will never go back to Asbury Park or support any business there. There’s too many other places we can go that are within an hour’s drive of us. They didn’t give us a second chance, so we’re not giving them or that community a second chance, and that is very much not like us.
Good time, lots of history here. Tonight’s staff was amazing considering it’s still “pre-season”. And of course the best cover band in the northeast, the Amish Outlaws. Hope they will be back.
My two times going there was great. I love the little display of vintage local pro wrestler stuff they have set up near the restrooms. Staff is always friendly and professional as heck. The second time I went, a member of our party was giving them an unnecessarily hard time (because she left her ID in the car and had to go back like twenty footsteps to get it) to the point that we were actually embarrassed. And our server remained super nice and a pro throughout the whole embarrassing ordeal. It would've been understandable had she not though.Food is good however. Hard to mess up bar food anyway. Plus there's live music at certain times. It's a "yes" from me.⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
amazing people great ambience great food great service caters to all
Show was great. Atmosphere was great. Just one freaking redheaded freaking security person who seemed to absolutely hate fun. Killed all the balloons, has this thing about people leaning on the stage, but didn't stop the super drunk girl from shoving everyone out of her way to basically be a brat for the last two songs.
I have nothing but wonderful things to say about the wonder bar . I have been coming for years with friends but this past weekend , I decided to bring my family (party of 10). Waitress was super nice and we had fast service . Menu isn't huge but they definitely have something for everyone ! The kids had their chicken strips with lemonade while the adults had burgers, and rum buckets .Would definitely recommend :)
Saw a local band event here. Had a blast. Bartenders are friendly. Security is so welcoming. Crowd and atmosphere was just great vibes!
