Taka is probably my favorite sushi restaurant in New Jersey - and maybe of all time.The restaurant itself is beautiful, with a clean, modern aesthetic.The bar is the perfect size, and gets really busy.The food - TOP NOTCH. Some of my favorite sushi anywhere - but there's plenty more on the menu besides sushi.I haven't had much of the kitchen dishes simply because the sushi is so damn good.My personal favorites are the Firecracker Roll, Jun-San Roll and their Spicy Tuna Roll - all amazing.Combine the great food with the decent beer selection and lively bar scene - and Taka is a definite winner.

Fantastic food, modern oriental atmosphere and stellar service, Taka is a great spot for any occasion that calls for nice dinner.Both visits I had were excellent. Their sushi is the best in the area and the braised short rib was one of the best meals I’ve ever had. Can’t recommend this place enough if you love sushi and good food.
Great service and food every time!
Taka is our go-to for take out. We get both sushi and an entree. Food has been 100% fresh and delicious on over 10 take-out experiences. It is always ready at the pick-up time. I’ve also dined in many times in the last five years and had a wonderful experience each time. The bar is a fun place to sit alone and they can accommodate big parties just as easily. We love Taka! This place is seriously high quality, the place looks beautiful, the food is perfect, and the staff is amazing. Our waiter Alexander was especially kind and great. He refilled our drinks often, made sure we had everything we needed, and also got our food out to us very quickly, so props to the kitchen crew as well. We didn’t really have to wait for anything and there were no issues whatsoever. This place is very professional and very good quality. If I ever come to New Jersey again, I’m definitely stopped here.

One of my favorite restaurants in Asbury! From the very fresh sushi to the cooked dishes, Taka does it all good. I never thought I’d ever order meatloaf in a restaurant, but after tasting some of my friends, I’ve ordered it and it is delicious!
Food is fantastic! Anything on the menu is very well made. Only reason not 5 stars is that service can be slow if you're sitting at the bar. They're very friendly but sometimes inattentive. Worth the trip though!
