I had a terrible time here… There was some serious potential here considering it had good reviews and seemed very busy. But to start, our waitress, Shannon was very rude. She was not friendly from the beginning. She also seemed to not care about our table compared to others. Multiple tables that came after us got served before us and when we simply asked for straws which we waited on for 10 minutes until we had to ask the host for them and Shannon never followed up about it. We ordered drinks and being from out of state, I understand needing a second opinion but instead of having someone come over, she just took our IDs to the back. Then every person in our group of four had a bad food experience. The tacos were served ice cold, the bowl was served with cold cheese still on top (to which the waitress argued about how it’s because cheese solidifies even tho it was still in shreds proving it never even melted), and the quesadilla had an unusual seasoning. The tacos were also advertised as being marinated but very bland. I understand being a server in a busy restaurant can be difficult but the manager never even came over to ask about our experience after we told the waitress how we felt (in a very polite way). We never asked for comped food or a discount, we just wanted to make them aware but she comes over to tell us the manager said no, they will not take money off the bill, which again, we never asked for. The two star are for the friendly hosts and good margaritas.
This place has a great atmosphere and has the potential to be a good spot. The margaritas and chips and queso were actually very good but the bad service and entrees left a bad taste in my mouth. Our server Shannon was very rude even argued with us about the quality of food. I ordered the veggie quesadilla and it had a strong soy sauce flavor. My friends tacos were ice cold, cheese not melted and bland. We informed her and never heard from a manager. I would never eat here again. It is way over priced for the quality of food that is received. This is sad because this place could be amazing!
This could be a great place, but I had a horrible experience.First off the food was not good. Three out of four of us at the table had cold food. To add my friend’s quesadilla tasted like vinegar, and my carne asada burrito bowl had no flavor. The portion size for a $17 bowl was ridiculously small. With our chips and queso, we asked for extra chips and we were charged without being told. The worst part though is that the service was terrible. I had a server named Shannon L, and she was incredibly rude to our whole table. She forgot straws for our table twice, and we had to ask the host. It took an extremely long time for us to order our food, and receive it. When I told Shannon I was unhappy about my food because it was cold and flavorless I told her I only wanted her to know because I understand that mistakes happen. She then proceeded to argue with me and tell me that I was wrong about knowing how to tell if my food was cold?? I pointed out that the cheese on my burrito bowl didn’t even melt, and she told me that it’s normal. When she came back she told me the manger wouldn’t comp our food (even though we never asked for comped food). The manager never checked in or apologized to our table for not enjoying our experience, which is very unprofessional. Shannon also harassed our table for asking for 4 separate checks.Unless the service changed I would not eat here.
Finally a great Mexican place in the tri-State area. I like their cheesy take on quesadillas (no pun intended they are supposed to be cheesy after all) and their tacos are very scrumptious. The service was second to none, and the place features a relaxing & chill ambiance that makes your feel comfortable. Shannon (the waitress) went over and beyond … the best service ever !!
The atmosphere and food were phenomenal!!! A friend of mine and I enjoyed strawberry margaritas. We split a small order of the nachos. Don't be shy about ordering it without the meat! They were seriously the best nachos I have ever had! I was shocked at how fat the burritos were. I took half home for lunch the next day. Sooooo good! The flan was a dessert special... ON POINT! I can't wait to go back! It is one of my new fave spots!
Terrible experience here tonight and after all the good reviews I am disappointed…and have what I assume is food poisoning! 2 hours after arriving home from our utterly disappointing meal (enchiladas and sides had no flavor - were the beans literally just poured out of a can? Nachos were the only thing that was ok but cold upon arrival to the table and my drink was watered down) I became very nauseous and 3 hours later vomited up my entire meal. Our waitress seemed not to even know what was on the menu and her overall demeanor was entirely lackluster. Not to mention, no high chairs or booster seats? It’s a big restaurant and it was a slow Monday night! Would give 0 stars if I could. Avoid, especially with children!
The food was mediocre, tasted like a fast food restaurant. The reviews are very misleading. This is not authentic mexican cuisine. Portions were small and had no taste. Ordered passion fruit and jalapeño margaritas and they tasted exactly the same, just bland margarita, barely any alcohol. The total bill was $60 for 2 people and it was not worth it at all
Functionality:Amazing spot. We're a situation different than most; being a family of six with a 4, 2, and twin 1 year-olds not all restaurants can accommodate. They have an extremely convenient ramp in the restaurant to get to the slightly lower level. Perfect for wheel chairs or, in our case, a stroller. With booths on the upper level and a mix of booths and tables on the lower level; it was very accommodating to be able to situate the stroller next to the table.Atmosphere:Very clean. Very, very clean. The restaurant has almost a modern "garage" theme. As if you were eating at a lucrative restaurant that no one was supposed to know about. Reclaimed wood style garage doors decorate the back wall while the perfectly placed tequila bar with modern metal overhang sits in the back corner. Steel plates and appetizers in mason jars complete the look. Our kids did nothing but look around the first 10 minutes we were there.Food:11/10 Way above expectations. Appetizers include a variety of items you'd expect, but the quality was amazing. The nachos were complete with, what tasted like, homemade sauces. A word I'll keep going back to is 'clean', as in there was zero taste of additives or preservatives. There's NO WAY anything on those nachos was store bought. Authentic ... that's the best way to describe them ... authentic. I cannot recall the name of the appetizer on the menu, but it was street corn. Little bit of mayo ... spices. It was incredible. We had them do one without the spices and our one year old sons devoured it.For dinner the kids split a cheese quesadilla with chicken on the side. My wife and I both ordered the Carne asada burritos. Filling, well- seasoned, not over- done. Again .. clean. Great tasting meal.Staff couldn't have been more friendly. Overall a great experience. We'll definitely be back.
Favorite Mexican food by far. Authentic cuisine, amazing margaritas, and friendly staff. I recommend this restaurant to everyone!
This was such a let down of an experience, especially at a restaurant that we frequented so much.Last night we had dinner here and had an experience with the manager (Kelly) that goes against the idea of customer service - clearly is a thing of the past here.We were offered a “drink special” by our server at which we asked how much the drink was, the server replied $10. She then asked us which type of Tequila we wanted, so we said Casa Amigos (which is a mid grade tequila at best). When the bill came, they came up as Casa Amigos for $13 a piece AND THEN there was an additional $3 for a “double” - so $16 for this “$10 special” drink. We mentioned to the manager that there were some discrepancies and miscommunication here and that we were never told of the upcharge and also we were not given an option or asked about a “double” option.Kelly the manager told us it wasn’t listed anywhere, or priced anywhere. He told us that it’s “something” they do but they don’t list it anywhere. We asked him to make it right and reflect the prices that were told to us, but he told us no he wasn’t going to fix it. We then asked to at least update the pricing to reflect what customers are actually paying instead of this round about way of turning a $10 cocktail to a $16 cocktail. All in all, Kelly stood there and basically told us wasn’t going to update the prices, seemed to not care there was a miscommunication.Has been upsetting to see restaurants who gladly took our money during the pandemic as we tried to support them and now continue to price gauge customers with these different hidden costs, fee’s etc.
