People are not lying. First time to asbury park and will never come back. Stopped by this bar for a couple of shots. Rudest bartender for no reason. I couldn't tell if they are racist... I am Native and Spanish but off the bat the bartender refused to serve us more then one shot. Then when we asked for a second he told us no. That's just how he feels about it and we can go somewhere else. Never said anything about rude or out of order. We just laughed and said o.k. didn't leave a tip. From the reviews it's either because they hate out of Towner's or folks of any color. Won't ever be back here.
A local cliquey bar with rude bartenders. Had a disagreement with a goofy bartender( literally just asked him why the people there were rude and he just reacted) who lied to the bouncer that I was being aggressive. The bouncer then came at me in an aggressive manner about to grab me when I told him if he tried to put his hands on me he would have a problem. As a retired Police Lieutenant I just walked out to avoid drama as the clique clapped and laughed . Definitely not the typical friendly Asbury spot. Stay away from this dump
I've been going here for a few years. I love the burgers and the onion rings are in a class by themselves. They have Hamm's beer, and Pabst . Good enough for me. I've never received rude service like other people have mentioned, but I don't go to bars to make friends with the staff.
Literally the most pretentious dive bar I have ever been to (and I’ve been to a lot of them). If you want to have a can thrown at your head by a little weasel who won’t even look you in the eye, go here. If you want to be manhandled by a troglodyte bouncer who looks like a white nationalist from the Pacific Northwest, go here. If you want to be harassed by a “ex-employee” who yells at you for taking photos because it reminds her of “lightning strikes she saw as a child,” go here. If you want to be reprimanded for not ordering a beer/shot special the right way (as if there is one), go here. If you you want to have a normal, nice time with normal, nice people, do NOT go here. A blight on the beautiful city of Asbury Park.
Classy, speak easy style. The food is great. Fthe fish tacos and Cali burgers are great. They got all sorts of brews in tap, they serve drinks in mason jars. The environment is warm and inviting. It's a great place to chill and bs with a friend.
The bartender was rude… on june 29. Mid afternoonMade drinks and just left on the bar. Did not let us know they were our drinks. We asked a question… he said to read the menu. Very clicky bar. Seemed like outside weren’t welcomed. Nothing about this bar was worth visiting. My suggestion is to skip this bar
Been living around Asbury for past 7 years and a lot has changed.. but the one thing that hasn’t is Bond Street Bar. Cold drinks, killer tunes, great burgers and best staff
I just had the best Cheeseburger that ever had at the Bond Street Bar and Grill that is tucked away and almost hidden on 208 Bond Street in Asbury Park, NJ. The It is a small bar and grill with a dark almost mystical ambiance on a small one-way street. The bar has a warm and welcoming personality featuring great food, good vibes, friendly staff all in an inviting space of a classic pub atmosphere. On nice days you can eat outside on a small patio or along Bond Street itself and even bring your dog. They have a water bowl strategically set up for “man’s (and woman’s) best friend” while enjoying your meal outside. My friends and family always rave about the Bond Street Bar and Grill. There's a big downstairs bar that is apparently the place to go on the Jersey Shore on weekends. They have a DJ, dance floor and a super fun atmosphere. Since I was a little boy, I always loved Asbury Park on the Jersey Shore. People call the Bond Street Bar and Grill a “dive bar,” once considered a derogatory term, but the term “dive bar” is now a coveted badge of honor especially in one of the most exciting places in Asbury Park on the Jersey Shore known for its music and art. The Bond Street Bar and Grill features an open eye logo and creative artwork painted on the side of the building. As a former New Jersey Commissioner of Health and former president and current executive board member of the New Jersey Public Health Association, I give the Bond Street Bar and Grill my highest recommendation for outstanding food and a fun place to visit and enjoy.Dr. Jim Brown
