We were told 45 minutes wait and just one family before us. Person behind the counter didn’t even bother to take down our name. We waited outside patiently for 30 minutes, even after family before us got the table and another group left.. 4 young white people walked in and they got the table, while we waited outside with hungry teenagers (we were a party of 4 too). When We asked the waitress she apologized but the person behind the counter was unapologetic, he didn’t care for our business (may be because our skin color is not white?). We walked away and went to Reyla - just a 2 minutes walk, welcoming, friendly and courteous staff, beautiful ambience, excellent cocktails and delicious Mediterranean food.
Great Italian restaurant in Asbury Park, N.J. It is byob. Place is a bit loud and conversation is difficult but not impossible. We went on a Thursday which is half price pasta night so that may have something to do with it. Definitely make a reservation. Parking in Asbury is tough so give yourself extra time. You also pay for parking through an app. Thankfully there is signage near to all parking walking you through it. Great appetizers, pasta and plenty of dishes for meateaters.
the penne vodka sauce was delicious and it has crispy pancetta in it. Get it with rigatoni instead of penne and it's a 10/10
Excellent Italian restaurant, the staff are fantastic, the food is outstanding. Check this place out if you can. You probably need to make a reservation, cause it's right in the middle of Asbury.
I absolutely love this place! The carbonara was sooo good! Their pasta dishes are delicious! 1/2 PRICE PASTA MONDAY & THURSDAY
Belmontes is the BEST. Great atmosphere, great food, nicest staff, BYO. Always have the best time there!!! Some pics of last night’s feast include the carbonara, veal saltimboca, chicken Giovanni, linguini with clams, pappardelle, shrimp special with risotto, and fettuccini gambretti ??❤️
Definitely not good. Wife had the Chicken Saltinbucca and it tasted off. The side of mashed potatoes tasted sour. The waitress apologized and brought out pasta with marsala as a replacement and the marsala tasted like straight wine. I had the veal parm and the cheese tasted off. Just a one and done for us.
Great food and really good service! Glad to see they were busy.. :)split a Ceasar salad, Linguini w Fruiti di mar fra diavlo, linguini w clams in white wine w garlic and Rigatoni w Vodka sauce... BYOB... awesome Canoli desert!!!!
Loves the meal including salads and appetizers. Clams oreganato were tasty as were the escarole salads. I had my favorite: Stuffed Rigatoni Amatrice with a hearty spicy tomato sauce with pancetta. Our server Carl was friendly and attentive.
I just came from a wedding rehearsal party here and I can honestly say - it was the best Italian meal out that I've ever had. There were 6 of us to a table and 4 apps, 2 salads and 4 entrees were all served family style. Every. Single. Thing. that hit the table was flawlessly executed and the service was incredible. They couldn't do enough for my wife who has food sensitivities to garlic and onion (challenging in an Italian restaurant!) and they were really nice about it too, which isn't always the case. Our entire table of six, which included two senior ladies of Italian descent, thought the food was absolutely served to perfection. We'll be back for dinner!
