My husband and I sat at the bar and Nick was our bartender. He was fantastic. Fast and efficient. He poured the best martini’s I have ever had and they were a perfect pour. Plus I could have drank the homemade Italian dressing. Highly recommend.
It's okay. But I won't be coming back.Cramped seating arrangements and overfilled plates at small tables, where the entree dishes are too big for three people to comfortably sit. Here they take a "more" means "better" approach to entrees, which usually I don't take issue with, but the kid who brought out my meal spilled my chicken piccata's mushroom sauce from my overfilled plate on my shirt and had no idea what to do until I told him to get me napkins.I'm not the type to make a scene, mistakes happen, wasn't going to accost as the plate was far too filled. However, I was definitely annoyed that the kid didn't do anything but stand there and say sorry til I asked for napkins. He didn't even alert the waitstaff at all to even acknowledge it.Quality of the food was fine, I'll eat my leftovers. There's plenty of them after all. Just not the dining experience I want to have. Please train your staff to handle issues better, I shouldn't have to tell the kid who spilled on me to get napkins, and I would hope someone would at least acknowledge the mistake and try to make up for it somehow. Also, tell your cooks to stop overfilling plates with thin sauce, because it makes mistakes like this even more likely.
excellent food & service, even while short staff.
I've dined at Ralphie's dozens of times over the last 15 or so years, starting at their previous location further south on 28. Ralphie's, to me, has always been a surefire good place to go for a consistently good home-cooked Italian meal. To be candid, it's not a place I go expecting incredible food, but rather a place I go when I crave just a solid, satisfactory, no frills good meal.I recently dined at their new (current) location after many years since my last visit. Overall my experience was satisfactory. However, the quality of both food and service has faltered a little from what I remember of this restaurant years ago.I remember a more dimly-lit, quieter, more intimate dining room less crowded with tables, and a meal that was of a quality that exceeded what one would expect from its price tag. After my most recent visit, it seems to have lost a little of its quiet Italian restaurant charm and is instead moving in the direction of the kind of environment I'd expect from a pub.The food is still quite good. I got the Fra Diavolo (a favorite Italian dish of mine) and what I was served was tasty and satisfactory, but was very mild in spice and the portion had me feeling it was less a value than I've come to expect from Ralphie's (whether the blame falls on the restaurant or hyper inflation, I'll let you decide). Additionally, my meal arrived on a plate that had a large chip in it the size of 2 quarters. So, not the best presentation of a meal.My server was plenty friendly and attentive, but spoke very casually/informally to me. I would have appreciated a little more formality and less "hey" and "yeah" as the informal communication made me feel like I was at counter-serve pizza shop rather than a restaurant that seems to strive for a dining "experience".Overall, I feel Ralphie's is still a good bite. It's a little less of a value, and less "homey" and intimate as I remember it being, but it still offers a satisfactory experience I feel, albeit not all that impressive. You can't go wrong, but you probably can do better.
Excellent food !!! Chicken parm is the best!! Great staff!!
We have gone to Ralphie's many times over the past few years and usually have a good experience. We went last night and the meals were terrible! My husband ordered the chicken, broccoli and pasta and asked for the broccoli to be cooked soft. It was brought to him crunchy! When he told the waiter, he brought it back in the kitchen where they must have put the whole plate into the microwave because when it was brought back now the rest was dried out and the chicken was extremely tough. I ordered the Chicken cacciatore with penne pasta. The cacciatore was terrible! Tough chicken with no flavor with some peppers a a few measly mushroom. I don't think we will be back again for a long time if ever!
Had an excellent dining experience here. The service was above & beyond; our waitress Thalia was AWESOME!!! She truly enhanced the evening & was so sweet, caring, accommodating, & just genuinely pleasant to be around :) The food from start to finish was super delicious—huge portions & reasonably priced! Loved this place and cannot wait to return. Thanks Thalia :)
First time eating here and I was very pleased with the exceptional food and service we received. Our waiter was Brad and he has to be one of the best waiters I’ve ever had. Attentive, accommodating, friendly, and was quick to respond to our requests.
I absolutely ADORED my food experience with Ralphie's!! I had never tried it before, and was absolutely blown away by the portion sizes, and how absolutely delicious everything was. From the meatballs to the Italian sausage to the actual pasta itself. Perfection.100 stars if I could. Would absolutely recommend to anyone.
Great location, loved the decor ? waitress wasn't very personable. Maybe to busy but didn't introduce herself and we kinda felt like she was only serving us because she had too. Who knows but regardless, the food was good. We'd go back.
