This place is a complete anomaly. I don't know how they pull it off, but there is no compromise here in meeting all of the following criteria: (1) delicious food, (2) uplifting ambiance, (3) quick and friendly service, (4) entirely healthy options, (5) almost no lines, (6) sub-$10 per item, and (7) right in the middle of downtown.Portion sizes are just right, so if you like the feeling of being stuffed, add a smoothie or avocado toast to your entree. I recommend their Wavelength wrap and their Wake Up Call as a smoothie or a bowl. Oh, and try one of their avocado toast options on a slice of sweet potato instead - genius!

I love coming here to get smoothies and healthy breakfast options. Fun music, great atmosphere and friendly staff. Definitely recommend!

I had a wonderful first-time experience, largely due to Abby's amazing customer service. She immediately greeted me at the register and answered several questions that I had, all with a smile on her face while paying attention to what was going on around her, too. Moreover, while I was waiting for my delicious organic green juice, I saw that she greeted virtually every other customer by name.So not only did she make a new-to-Portsmouth person feel welcome but made local customers feel appreciated. All of those things are so important to maintaining an established business as well as growing it. If I had a similar business, I'd do everything in my power to poach her away from The Green Room! Thank you, Abby, and to your coworkers, too.

If you’re looking for non-bacon/eggs kind of breakfast place - this is it. Lots of healthy-ish breakfast options, fresh ingredients, and quick service. Everyone here was super nice and what’s even better - you could enjoy your meal outside on a sunny day. Definitely recommend.

This morning I had a strong desire for an egg and cheese sandwich so I decided I’d finally give The Green Room a try! Upon entering I was greeted kindly and welcomed into the positive vibe that was going. After looking at the menu for a moment, I noticed there weren’t as many vegetarian options as there were when I quickly checked on their menu prior. I asked the register person if they could do the vegan sausage, egg, & cheese sandwich that I saw online. She immediately nodded and said they could accommodate my order. I was pretty pumped, it was exactly what I was looking for! Though it was too good to be true I guess..I ordered two smoothies and two veggie sausage, egg, & cheese sandwiches with an addition of avocado. It came out to be $30 which seemed pretty expensive to me. I had high hopes for the products so I figured it’d be worth the extra money? It is in downtown Portsmouth after all. After about 20 minutes or longer of waiting for my order of two smoothies and two sandwiches to go, I was still feeling hopeful for their products. I probably should have known better of a business that’s staffed exclusively with teenagers. After finally picking up my items, I brought them along for a short drive of 5-10 minutes to meet up with my boyfriend. Since most of my experience was predictable to this point, we were both still imagining that behind the securely foil wrapping would be the delicious bagel sandwiches we’d been craving all morning. When we opened the bag, we immediately knew something was up. Upon unwrapping, we exposed an everything bagel that looked like it was sourced from the freezer. Inside there was a big thick slice of what looked like a fully cooked omelette with an extreme amount of onions and peppers covered in a dark cheese that resembled American, topped up with a brown avocado mashed excessively into the top half of the bagel. It was not the porous fresh bagels with over easy eggs, melting white cheddar cheese, and freshly sliced avocado they show on their Instagram. We both took one bite and could not keep going. The smoothies ended up okay, while a bit more milky than I expected, they were still okay enough to be consumable. Although definitely not the quality I would seek out if I was choosing to get to-go food in the future. In this case, I already invested 45 minutes in the experience and didn’t want to waste everything.I was so bummed by how unappetizing the sandwiches were and I’m not sure if I would go back any time soon. I know that staffing in food service is tough right now and that training everyone to the same expertise level is impossible with business picking up. Though I think Green Room needs to take a look at what they are so strongly advertising they can serve and the actual product quality their kids are making everyday. I think they need to be better about communicating exactly what they are serving or get create more consistently. Especially with Instagram being one of their biggest marketing tools.I really wish I had some photos to go along with this

Great spot for breakfast or lunch! Food is great, smoothies are yummy, and the staff are nice! Quickly becoming one of our fav places!

I’ve always loved the Green Room, but I had such an awful experience today that I decided to write a review. I was too stunned to confront the young woman who served me.I was greeted with a sigh. She was impatient with me when I forgot the name of a dressing that I wanted to order. I apologized for my forgetfulness. Even though she was incredibly apathetic and rude with me, I knew that tipping her was the correct thing to do — I work with customers in a similar setting. I told her, “the change is for you!” and she said nothing.I then watched the same woman help the next man in line with a smile, and a bright “thank you so much!” when he tipped her. Absolutely pathetic. I greeted her with kindness and apologized for my forgetfulness and indecisiveness while ordering — It only took me a minute. I went out of my way to be kind and friendly with her, only to feel like a burden for entering the establishment.

Love the vibe of this place! They have so many great options, even as simple as a bagel with cream cheese or a egg and cheese breakfast sandwich. I got the Berry Blazed smoothie bowl and it was absolutely delicious!

Was a convenient spot to stop and fuel up! The counter help was very helpful and the food by far even better than I expected. I ordered the egg sandwich separate from my eggs, bacon and avocado. The eggs were perfectly cooked and absolutely loved the light and airy bagel!!!Hubby commented that the fruit in his bowl was SUPER fresh and delicious.

Friendly service, with great suggestions made. Bagel sandwich (Bernie's) was outstanding! Eggs perfectly cooked, ripe avocados and crispy bacon on a fresh and fluffy everything bagel. One of the best bagel sandwiches we've ever had. Kale ginger juice was bright and tasty. We loved this little tucked away gem.
