The atmosphere here is really lovely. Vegetarian, Vegan and GF options here!Delicious matcha lavender drinks.Didn’t see plug access for electronics but will check again next time I go.would love to see them open later in the day but that’s just cause I’m a night owl.

We were in Portsmouth for the weekend attending an alumni event. We were looking for a light breakfast. We came across The Goods Market and were not disappointed. The breakfast sandwich on flat bread and the smashed avacado toast hit the spot. Like most eateries, I think they were short-staffed but the woman in the front greeted us with a smile.

Thoughtful menu, great flavors, marred by perfunctory cashier and kitchen staff. Barista was a great customer service team player and corporate representative. Cashier looked out at us, made no acknowledgement and ducked back behind wall, not returning until ringing bell and a yell to the back by other team member. Cashier arrived not making eye contact or pleasantry, “What can I getcha?” Then upon presenting our bill with a hundreds of dollars overcharge, offered no apology but explained that it wasn’t her fault, but that the toast she entered showed up at $300.00. At any rate, an invoice to a patron is akin to a paycheck, in the almost sacred trust required between the two parties. When something is grossly wrong, the professional behind the counter should see it, fix it and take ownership, not leave it to the guest to discover the lapse then hear excuses. Food good; coffee drinks very good; back of the house team perfunctory and cashier had poor customer service. Portions small but flavorful. Later-in-the-day home fries less than bountiful and moribund.

Originally, me and my boyfriend had a different restaurant in mind before we tried this place. Due to an hour long wait for a table we were walking around downtown to kill time and ended up finding this hidden gem. We decided to have brunch there instead and they did not disappoint! My boyfriend got their breakfast sandwich on a gluten free bagel and I got the mediterranean omelette, whole wheat toast, and a side of home fries. I also got a honey turmeric latte.Everything was delicious, and the staff was very friendly. We also enjoyed looking at the local products the cafe/restaurant sells. We will definitely be back!

I drove all the way here from the Salem, MA area one morning when I was in a really low spot. I ordered french toast and a coffee to stay. The woman who owns this place makes the food, and sees to every customer with so much love and it was felt and I want her to know that. The french toast was unreal and the coffee was bracing. After the morning rush she went around asking everyone if they were happy, and she was REALLY asking. I'm so glad that out of all the places I stumbled upon (because I didn't know where I was going) this was the place I came to. Can't recommend it enough.

Never again. Worst owner ever.We ordered a breakfast sandwich, the 3 eggs plate, 2 coffees. Female owner totaled $12 & change. Then said $17 & change, she was distracted. Sat down. Sandwich came, 2 eggs did not. I asked. He said was coming. Later, nothing. Employee complained about female boss and family, went back, came out and said coming. Female owner later came out and asked how all was. I said half was good, still waiting on 2 eggs plate. Employee guy later asks status, nothing, owner comes out demanding to see my receipt. She never gave me one. I called it, had been 4 trips, just going to leave. She said “ don’t slip on your way out.”

in response to the previous negative review because i was present during this altercation. he failed to mention his actions.he was horrible to the employees to the point of being on the verge of tears , when they tried to correct the situation he got up in an irate manner and proceeded to dump his glass of water onto the floor and threw his plate like a child and yelled “clean it up women”… okay karen ??

Absolutely awesome breakfast! It was delicious and hot and fueled us for our day around downtown today in the rain. Awesome service as well! 10/10 definitely recommend!

Good breakfast sammies BUT “make it a meal” home fries are shamefully overpriced at $3 for maybe enough to fill an 8oz dry measure cup. Appalling.

Wow - the beef chili breakfast burrito is super delicious! Adorable spot, great service, amazingly talented cook(s) behind the scenes. Among the best spots in Portsmouth for sure.
