Food was great, cocktails were good - service was BAD. What a shame...a snobby Waiter ruined what truly was a wonderful meal. He ignored us, had to ask 3x for water, couldn't get a 2nd round of drinks

This review has one caveat - our party of 4 sat in the outdoor seating. The restaurant has only 4 outside tables (on a little terrace) which was a requirement of our group, so we were extremely lucky to arrive at the right time and get a wonderful table and view. The inside restaurant became extremely crowded and would not have suited our needs. The place was packed I’m sure because the food was excellent. As was our server, John. Korean scallops, baked seafood plate, & miso marinated salmon were all really tasty. The only food disappointment for us was the special appetizer grilled octopus. The smaller pieces were excellent but had never experienced such large pieces of octopus on a serving. Perhaps that was just personal taste as the sauce and smaller pieces were fine.

We were visiting from out of state to celebrate my daughter's birthday, and I tried to make reservations (party of six), but was told they were fully booked for the weekend, but we could try walking in. We spent the day in Portsmouth, and walked in around 4:30 pm ... the place had plenty of tables (I suspect they just don't take any reservations). We were seated at a table with a beautiful view of the water. Our waiter, Derek, was very attentive and managed our group very well. We started with several sushi rolls (highly recommend the Chili Garlic Rainbow Roll!), the Rhode Island Style Calamari, and the Lobster Fries ... all really tasty choices. A couple people in our party ordered the Lobster Roll and had high praise for them! I had the Fish and Chips Sandwich (tempura fried haddock) and it was the BEST fish sandwich I have ever had. But I was surprised by the incredibly delicious bite I took of my husband's Pastrami Smoked Salmon BLT ... wow so good! My daughter enjoyed the Surf Style Tacos, while my other daughter loved the Crispy Shrimp Steam Buns. There was nothing but satisfied faces at the table. Unfortunately, we were too full for dessert.

Beautiful outdoor deck in previous reviews drew us in. We asked to sit outside and where taken to upstairs tiny deck with high top tables. As we are leaving we noticed there was a spacious main level deck w low top tables. Wish we had been offered a choice. ( my husband hates high top tables).

I have had lobster all around the globe at the Lobster Kristina was the absolute best I have ever had !! The waitstaff here was awesome and our waitress, Abby , was amazing ! This place was the highlight of our trip ! You must try this place !!

Always love coming here to treat me and my significant other. Slightly pricey but the food quality is worth it. Especially if you get the ocean view table.

For $100 including tip, we got 2 clam chowder, one fish and chips, one fried scallops dish and 2 soft drinks. My fish was just borderline not cooked enough. It would have needed 2 minutes more. Ditto for my wife's scallops. The fish and scallops were very fresh. The clam chowder was very good. It was rich and full of clams. They put smoked bacon in it which gave it a nice smoke flavor. I guess we paid for the view, potentially great tasting food if the main course would have been properly cooked. It was noon when we arrived. The place was almost empty. They have no excuse for not cooking the food enough. I would not go back. It was not a good value for me.

Looking for the right place for a lobster roll for our 85 yr old birthday girl, that would also accommodate a true "foodie" and a vegetarian. Voila! There was something for everyone, it was all delicious and the group agreed that we would most definitely make a repeat visit. To note, the sushi was excellent -- the lobster roll was generously filled and treated with an expert hand, the salads (brussel sprout and fried tomato/bacon) were divine and the fish was excellent.

Two couples went to the surf restaurant last night and then go to the restaurant at five pm. We are glad that we did since the restaurant is very popular. We got a beautiful table overlooking the water and the experience began. We ordered four plates of sushi, the muscles which were unbelievable with chorizo and crabcakes. This meal was simply phenomenal and the service was outstanding. If you’ve not been to surf go now.

This place was absolutely amazing. We started with the oysters - two different kinds: six from New Hampshire and six from Maine. All of them were very fresh and tasty.Next I ordered the Portuguese stew and my wife ordered the BBQ scallops. The stew was filled with all kinds of perfectly cooked sea food and a delicious broth. The only downside was that they only gave you one piece of grilled bread. The BBQ scallops were perfectly cooked and the mashed potatoes and asparagus were all well seasoned.Although the entrees were amazing the best thing about the night was the salted caramel vodka. Such a delicious drink. If you have a date night and want to impress the lady/man bring them here.
