The Reuben is out of this world!
great place. sandwiches were good and perfectly toasted. it’s a local place and well underrated. service was good and they are nice people.
Clean, friendly, fresh! And they use only the best Boar’s Head products
Great great stop, glad we found it
Great little sandwich shop with character. Fresh made sandwiches right there by a real person you can talk to. Fresh ingredients. Great homemade soups.
Googies is a great little sandwich shop. A little hidden gem of Portsmouth! Sandwiches are a good size and reasonably priced. Found this spot while staying in Portsmouth for the week and ended up getting lunch there a few times. Definitely worth it for a quick lunch!
I’m surprised that there aren’t more reviews here. I came upon Googies while leaving Strawberry Banke on a warm, sunny day. Seeing this was a deli/sandwich shop, the idea of a picnic became a lot more appealing than sitting inside a restaurant. It definitely reminded me of a NY deli with some great sandwich options (Boars Head meat) and lots of convenience food. There was indoor seating as well. I opted for the half and half, sandwich and soup combo. I got the Rueben panini, a cup of clam chowder (loaded with clams), a bag of chips and a soda all for under $12. I thought it was great value for some really tasty food. It was a short walk back to Prescott Park where I enjoyed a lovely little picnic at the waterfront. I love a good sandwich and I’m glad I stumbled upon Googies!
Very unexpected how fresh everything was. Had a chef’s salad with homemade balsamic vinegar dressing. They should bottle and sell it! Was expecting tired flavorless food and got just the opposite.
Great location and sandwiches!
Not a fan. Might as well just walk a couple of blocks to Moe's; at least they're friendly.
