Bad service, worse food.Servers were absent and awkward every step of the way.The presentation on the food was fine, but a raw potato is a raw potato. The bacon was burnt and everything was cold.I had high hopes for this place, but they let me down in every way possible ??
Cozy atmosphere, impeccably clean. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Excellent food. The bacon was cooked to perfection, the eggs were amazing, everything made from scratch based on the taste and presentation (pre made doesn't come out this good). My large tea was the largest I've ever seen. It can in one of those soup mugs. Our server kindly offered to put the test in a to go cup. An all around amazing experience! We'll definitely be going back. Amazing food, service, and atmosphere for an incredibly reasonable price.
Mediocre food and bad service—didn’t include chicken in the caprese panini and charged for a side that was offered as though it was included—didn’t offer to fix any of their errors. Definitely they were not interested in making customers happy. Cute decor otherwise.
On lower State Street, I went to Fezziwig’s Food & Fountain. The owner was, apparently, a Dickens fan, naming the establishment after the character in A Christmas Carol. A lot of people were seated at the tables on the sidewalk. I didn’t want to sit there anyway because of all the passing foot traffic. The tables were too close to passersby for my liking. Inside, I found a gentleman dressed in Victorian clothes. He completed the atmosphere of being in an old-fashioned soda fountain/ice cream shop. I ordered a small chocolate soft serve in a cup. With tax, it was $4.09. I ate inside at a marble-topped table that was reminiscent of old-time soda fountain counter tops and tabletops. While I was there, a mother brought her daughter about 4 years old in for an ice cream soda. It was great to see a youngster experiencing the ambiance of a bygone era. The place was decorated for Halloween with artificial pumpkins and big black birds – vultures, perhaps. The décor included items, such as a teapot. It was like a step back in time. However, that said, many of the menu offerings were very contemporary. There was a full espresso bar, regular coffee, and White Heron tea, plus craft beers and wines as well as milkshakes. The menu included breakfast items, such as pastries, both sweet and savory crepes. Lunch items included soups, salads, small plates, and sandwiches, Sweets included ice creams along with sundaes. I enjoyed my ice cream and will eat there again for lunch or tea. . I rate my experience with Fezziwig’s Food & Fountain at 4.25. If you found this review helpful, please click THANK below.
It's not often that you find a real British afternoon tea, but here it is!!! We so enjoyed our sandwiches, scones, petit fours, macarons, and tea. The only thing I would change is to serve it on real tiered plates instead of plastic. Highly recommend!!
We waited patiently in line to order. When it was our turn everything we tried to order from the menu we were told they did not have. It was weird. If you run out of items you should announce it before the customer orders and not play a game about it. I don't think the girl behind the counter should have been working there. Finally I asked what did she still have in order to stop the game of guessing but we should have just left. Our root beer floats tasted like selzer not root beer. We will not be back.
We had a lovely lunch in this beautifully decorated, quaint, charming cafe. Enjoyed an autumnal salad and root beer float! My husband had a beer and a mac and cheese. All sorts of delicious food available!
My husband ordered a vanilla malt and it had a dish of their wonderful ice cream. The portions were more than adequate and they had a nice area to sit outside so we could enjoy our treats and still stay socially distant during the pandemic.
4 out of 5 stars - food was good - the menus posted outside were different from the menus inside - rely on the "inside" menu to get the most accurate idea of the food being served.
Very cool environment. One of the best strawberry milkshakes I’ve ever had.
