Lovely little European bakery and coffee shop in a quaint Portsmouth alley.Definitely don’t miss out on their new Italian apertivo happy hour! Lovely bites and cocktails outdoors.

6 people working and it seemed like they were all standing around while there was a line around the block. All we ordered were pastries that had to be put in a bag and it took 20 minutes after we ordered to get them. Why is it so difficult for this establishment to put pastries in a bag?!

Elephantine Bakery is absolutely exquisite and they have the most scrumptious pastries and specialty breakfast foods. I got their Poached Eggs Cilbir and it was incredible, nothing like I have ever had before!! It's a must try for sure and definitely get one of their Cardamom and Orange Palmiers, they are so buttery and flakey with hints of spice. Amazing place!

This little bakery and cafe hidden in a side street in Portsmouth packs a big punch, quality, service and unique flavors. It's adorable size and decoration promises a unique experience. Come early before fresh unique items sell out. An absolute must.

Absolutely loved this adorable bakery! We went back two days in a row while visiting the area. Lattes are excellent, all the baked goods (and there are five of us, so we tried a wide assortment), where absolutely outstanding. The owner and staff were all super kind. Plus, it’s down this adorable alley, so it just feels special. Do yourself a favor and check it out.

The croissant was the best I've ever had: flaky, crispy, sweet, and beautiful. The espresso drinks were delicious. This cafe is also just downright gorgeous and adorable, and the staff are extremely friendly. All around an incomparable experience.

Cute vibes, and very busy on a Saturday morning. There are only about 4 small tables, so cross your fingers for a spot by the window. I ordered an oat milk London fog and a chocolate almond croissant. The London fog was a great flavor, though I would have loved a bit more foam. Perhaps that’s the oat milk though. The croissant could have used some work, as it was wet in the middle. I’m not sure if it was the baking process or that the lamination didn’t go perfectly in rolling the dough, but see the photos. The parts that weren’t wet were great. I’d go back, but probably wouldn’t get the same pastry. They had quite a few non-croissant options that looked delish.

Finally got a chance to come here and treat myself for my birthday and I’m so glad I did.The poached egg, hearty fresh baked bread, garlic cream was absolutely delicious, carefully crafted that I make sure the bowl is clean when I’m done. The food and pastries are delicious.Lattes/coffees are relatively simple which is also nice (classic) however could be nice to have one or two options such as vanilla or maple. They do have alternative milks here so definitely vegetarian friendly though not necessarily vegan friendly. Would love to see more hearty vegan meals.Outlet friendly from what I can remember but I’ll have to double check next time.Small, cozy space. Certainly busy on the weekends, so I typically go on Thursdays or Fridays. They also have a few outside seating.Closes early so I’ll always want the time to extend later but get there early and time slows down and it feels like you’ve been there for hours.Good music, friendly staff. Wish I came here sooner!Budget for $15-30 if you’re getting food & a drink w/tip.

Excellent Mediterranean lunch options.Get here early for the pastry case! Delicious baked goods that get sold out by noon.

This is a charming little coffee shop and bakery. The people are always incredibly nice, the coffee is strong and I have had to stay away from the bakery stuff…. I’ll weigh 8000lbs if I start eating everything that looks so good!
