I don't often give bad reviews especially to local businesses, but the food is a HUGE disappointment. I like the lively lounge environment and the servers are friendly, but all the food we ordered was terrible. For example, the vegetable lomein had no vegetables, just a pile of extremely greasy noodles with a couple pieces of cooked cabbage. The teriyaki beef and sweet ribs looked great, but literally tasted the same- totally bland. I think the problem might be the oil they use just covers up any real flavor. Anyway, I might return for a drink but will think twice before ordering food.Update; looking at some of the other reviews, confirming no veggies in the lomein and meat tasting like nothing. I too, remember eating here years ago and it being good. I think they must have changed some things..
Walked in was seated. We were the only customers there. Waitress seated us then went into kitchen and never came back.15 minutes she never came back. This place does not care . 15 m
In the past the food was good but it's descending into fryolator-land. Couple suggestions - Trim the fat on boneless ribs, include crab rangoon with the poopoo platter, use less brought-in frozen apps, show some skill and quality by making more in-house items.
This review is about food pickup. It does not reflect restaurant service or atmosphere. It has been a couple months since we have ordered from North Garden. I do realize prices on everything have gone up this year. I just feel the price was very high and the quality of food is down. What used to cost me around $50-55 was now $83 for the order. The food was ok, but not like what we are used to from North Garden. The pork fried rice was terrible. The generals chicken was small pieces that seemed more batter than actual chicken. The boneless spareribs were really dry and not much flavor. The crab rangoon was just the wanton wrap with very little filling. Egg rolls were still good. Will be going with New WaToy from now on…although their egg rolls are terrible. Way to salty. Maybe just just get food from WaToy and egg rolls from North Garden lol. They are right near each other. I hate to leave a bad review for one of our go to Chinese takeouts, but it is what it is.
Great food. Takeout is quick and easy. My wife and I go here weekly; so, I would definitely recommend awesome restaurant. The only reason I am dropping one star is because, approximately 1/3 - 1/2 the time veggies aren't cooked enough (on the verge of being raw); especially the broccoli (when it's not cooked enough) comes out still soaked in water and hard. Since my and I go there all the time; we feel that this id due to different cooks making it so, it's hit or miss. When they cook the vegetables correctly every time, I will bump the rating up to 'five stars'. Hope this helps. ✌️
always delicious dim sum ❤️ been eating here since I was a little girl. brought my boyfriend today for dim sum and he loved it. not to mention the staff and owners are so nice! I definitely recommend north garden
We arrived with a large group on Christmas Night and the service was incredibly fast. We had food and drinks minutes after ordering. The food was very good too! I had sesame Chicken and Pork Fried rice. The chicken was plump and white with a nice thin crisp layer of batter on it. The pork fried rice was good too, not too salty. The mai tai was your usual every day Mai Tai, but the Pina colada I got was very good.All in all our group was impressed and we will come back here again
My order tonight (picked up just before 5pm) was horrible. I have been a loyal customer for nearly 20 years. In the past couple years, it has gone downhill. Very inconsistent! Tonight, my teriyaki steak was dry, tough, and veiny. The chicken fingers were undercooked and the batter inside was raw. The chicken fried rice had no onions, scallions, or sprouts… just funny tasting chicken and flavorless rice. ? The owner was greeting customers as they came through the door. Maybe she should be paying closer attention to quality control. We will be bringing our business to Golden Tao.
I’m not sure what has changed but….. we got food from North Garden on Christmas Eve, the chicken fingers were way over cooked, the chicken inside was non existent and when there was some it was tough. Tried again on New Years Eve, again the chicken fingers were awfully over cooked, my egg rolls were missing and for what ever reason when I order and confirm they have pan fried dumplings, we always get deep fried ones. Time to move on to another place. Disappointing for sure.
I have been coming to the North Garden for over ten years! Tonight was the WORST experience I have ever had. I only gave them 1 star because I had to. I couldn't give no stars!! We order Tibit 1 and Tibit 2, veggie rice and veggie lo main! First the veggies came out and it was luke warm! Very disappointing!! Next came the veggie lo main, no veggies EXCEPT cabbage! I wish I took a picture! The Tibits came out next and it was horrible!! Everything was over fried and burnt! We sent our order back to be remade! The owner of North Garden came out to our table and said "This how it is cooked" "You don't like, cancel order" I was very surprised and disappointed!! We will NEVER be back!!! The owner needs to learn about customer service and good cooking!!! Maybe it has become just a drinking establishment!! Awful. Just Awful! The bartender was very understanding and just shook her head! STAY FAR AWAY!!
