This is not going to be pretty.If you've saved up because you're budgeting or middle class or even possibly in a bracket of wealth.What do you expect or even recognize as an expectation of what's expected or just plain waste.MmmmService moody,pushy.Food bring,just average as you're worst Chinese restaurant...as most Chinese restaurants in Manchester.I will give the benefit of the doubt it was good a year ago.Overpriced.Lastly,covid or what ever else humans can carry, was evident all over the menus.My palate was mortified....especially for the money.
Ordered take out. Arrived when I was told to. Order was not ready. Sat there for over 40 minutes only to have them come and tell me that a couple of the items I wanted were not available. Said they would refund me for the items. Never did. I called back they said they would refund for the items, but still didn't. Ended up disputing the charge with the credit card company. They disputed my dispute. Eventually, the credit card company found in my favor. Just could not believe how they refused to make a refund for items they ran out of. The way they handled it made me never go back there again. I had gotten lazy only going to Chen's for Chinese and sushi, but now had a reason to explore some other restaurants in town. Found Osaka on Elm Street which I think has better sushi than Chen's Garden, and way friendlier staff. Also found Sun City Sushi and Golden Tao, both of which I also prefer over Chen's. Chen's Garden lost a long time customer who ordered out or visited two to three times a month. Ended up being their loss, and my big gain!
Service was good but the food was not. They have a lot of good reviews though, so I will likely try them again and order something else. They have a nice bar area and a decent amount of parking.
Got takeout from a delivery service. I understand the prices are a bit higher for it. However, my scallion pancakes were charred & my combo #2 chicken fingers were over fried. I don’t think I’ll be eating here again. Also, the app had you chose a soup. When my food was delivered, there was a note that the soup is for dine in only. If it’s for dine in only, they shouldn’t have it on the app.
I just tried ordering online, put my card information in and now it says there's an error communicating with their P.O.S. system. Better hope my card info isn't stolen! Since that failed, I tried calling three times and they won't even pick up their phone. I used to love eating here with my grandmother, but this is just ridiculous.
Chens Garden never disappoints rather you're having sushi or Chinese. they have the best crab ragoon as well

Overly priced for the quality and service you get, with questionable business ethics. You will often be overcharged by not getting an advertised special price, or being charged for food you did not order. The lady who usually works the front desk is unpleasant more often than not, borderline rude and disrespectful. This is not a friendly and welcoming atmosphere at all—just give them your money, stuff your face or grab your food and leave. There are other restaurants around the city and surrounding towns that offer better quality food and MUCH better customer service. You deserve it, don’t settle for less.This place has only gone downhill over the years, in quality, price and service. Do yourself a favor and explore other restaurants. You may be pleasantly surprised at what you find!
2 stars isn't that bad. Might give it a try some day and that i did. Food was average, portions were small, bartender was horrible. Will never return to this place ever.
Great service and food! Sushi was very good also.
