When went up top early one evening recently. The place was slow, the table was dirty so I grabbed a towel and spray to wipe it off. The wait staff ran up to yell at me that I can not do that. She then turned around and walked downstair. After another 5 minutes, we walk down and left. There was almost no one else there and plenty of staff. We will not be back.
I would like to start this review by saying, by no means do we hold ill will against our server. She was the only waitress working the entire roof-patio section (save for some runners). Her tablet seemed to be malfunctioning in every way possible, making it difficult just to put in orders. The station that held items such as silverware, napkins, water, menus, etc was not properly stocked. She also seemed to not be fully trained.I would also like to point out that this restaurant is in no way accessible to people with mobility disabilities. Two flights of stairs just to get to the main level. And up another two narrows flights to get to the patio.Wait times overall were longer than expected. We sat down and beat the rush by about thirty minutes, but we hadn't the chance to place our entre orders until 20-30 minutes after receiving our drinks. Once the food did come out, there was no dressing with the salad, the dipping sauce that we had requested (and were told was available) was also missing as they in fact did not have it. We had to ask for silverware/napkins, and they only gave us three sets for our party of four. The food tasted well enough. One member of our party ordered the pineapple cocktail, and said that there was not enough alcohol in the drink. After the mixer and a beer he still wasn't even tipsy. It was clear that for the servers and runners, getting up and down the stairs with the trays was difficult, and there really wasn't enough space for them to walk between tables with anything bigger than an appetizer. Overall the the staff seemed set up to fail. We will not be returning.
I went here for my birthday on 4/9/22. They charged me over $400 for my $200 birthday dinner. I had been drinking and I was completely taken advantage of.
Slow Sunday afternoon. Food pretty good but app came out about 5 minutes before the meal. $10 drink "spring special" cocktail menu mojito made incorrectly with no mint no simple syrup (the two basic ingredients), tasted like straight alcohol over ice, nasty af. I didn't design the specials, I just ordered it. That sat, glass full, for about 20 minutes as we ate with only two sips taken (and realized it was truly undrinkable). Not attended to for a refill on a soda or check in even though waitress was wiping tables directly next to us with only a few customers at other tables. Waitress eventually came at end of entire meal. I let her know about the drink and asked it to be taken off the check (as we were about to leave), instead she came back with it remade when we were already ready to leave. I don't know if this was her decision, but it was not a fair one. That new drink had a couple leaves dropped in, presumably into the old drink because it still sucked and so I didn't drink it - again. Will not be back.
Great food, good prices, nice view of downtown Dover!
Had a great experience, and the chicken tenders were the best I ever had. Our bar tender, Nikita was super friendly and knowledgeable of the menu and drinks. Perfect spot for watching the game with a great view of down town Dover. A++
Good food, great staff and great karaoke with Kowboys Karaoke
Very good nachos & mozzarella sticks! $5 ladies night drinks...rum punch was yummy!
This place is just OK. The bar is fine, the drinks are fine, the service is fine, the space is fine. There's nothing remarkable about it though, and I don't know anyone who picks the Tavern as the first place to go out for drinks, but it is open until last call so there's that.
Such a fun atmosphere. I sang karaoke on Tuesday!
