Country potatoes were not cooked through. Almost raw. Omelet was dry. My breakfast burrito was dry and the portion of salsa was inadequate. Oh! And the butter for our biscuit was cold and too hard to spread.
When I was living in AZ, I've always wanted to go into a Black Bear a diner, but I never got a chance to. On Saturday afternoon I was craving a patty melt and some sweet potato fries. That is where I came across this one in Sparks, ordered through Google for pickup. At first I was nervous to step in by myself, since some employees at other restaurants can be awkward when people aren't in a group. But as soon as I walked into the building there were two other groups of families in line, while someone was being helped at the counter.Before it was my turn in line I was greeted by two wonderful young ladies who both asked me if I was waiting for a to-go order. Once I let them know my name on the order they immediately assisted me. It just felt so welcoming to go in and know that the staff feel comfortable with each other that they treat customers with such importance.
I stumbled across this mom and pop type diner and was not disappointed. I had dessert first (recommended if you don't wanna fill up - big portions??). The staff was extremely welcoming and made it a fun experience. Chicken fried steak is delicious and everything is made from scratch! Way to go BBD!!!
I just wanted to say that this is ridiculous, I’m over here on vacation and I love black bear but they have let me down this time. This is the worst avo toast I’ve had and I’ve had it before and it was mashed and had tomato slices and I am just highly disappointed.

Enjoy an comfy atmosphere with large portions and lots of good choices. I have had different items off of the menu and have never been disappointed with the quality of the food. Everything has always been tasty. Servers have always been helpful and friendly.If you are looking for a relaxed atmosphere, pretty quick service, and good comfort food, I would give it a try. I have returned and always had the same quality and service. Enjoy!
I have been to three of their locations. Always good at reasonable prices. Try the open face turkey sandwich and the meatloaf.
I love [email protected]/Sparks. Classic Benedict ALWAYS delicious. And waitress Miss Hannah is so sweet.
Came in around 6:30 this evening been at this location previously, but the service tonight was outstanding.It was slow at first but as soon as it got busy the young man who I'm assuming was the manager, was helping out his staff, checking on customers, he refilled my drink without me even having to ask. It was an overall good experience. Tracy was amazing and we loved the sticker on our ticket.Will return during this time of the evening.
