I ordered orange chicken, it was soggy and had no orange flavor just bits of orange peel. The cashew chicken was pieces of fried chicken, not expected, and too had NO flavor and three cashews on top. The sesame chicken had this black sweet sauce but nothing like any sesame chicken I've had before. The rice tasted like it was cooked in salt water and sprinkled with soy sauce. After writing this, I tasted all three sauces and they're the exact same.I talked to the manager they said sorry you don't like it there's nothing we can do. For me, the service is just as important as the food. Never will try again or recommend.
Food/Taste/Flavor: 3/5 - the cut and presentation and of the rolls/nigiri were great. However, the ingredients didn't seem as fresh since the texture of the rice and the fish were mushy. This happens if the fish was frozen/thawed rapidly or left out too long since sushi grade texture should be resilient and bounce back when you press it. We ordered yellowtail, salmon, tuna, shrimp, fresh water eel, and tamago nigiri. We also ordered two spicy scallop hand rolls, Osaka, and an Arizona roll.Ambience: 4/5 - when you walk in, the right hand side is the regular buffet, tables in the middle for hot pot, and the left side for the sushi. It seems a bit dark in the restaurant but night life might make it more popping as there was a karaoke machineService: 5/5 - the lady making the sushi is extremely hard working and constantly on the go. She seems to be the sushi chef and was also frying things in the back as well. We felt bad seeing her hands shake as she places the plates on the table :((Value for price: 3/5 - for $25 at lunch, this was okay for sushi but not the best. It seems like Reno/Sparks have higher costs on average for dining out
I loved going to this place but it was kinda sad when I went last Tuesday. 1 other group besides us was there and all the food had been sitting there for probably several hours. The teriyaki skewers were tough like jerky and you couldn't bite through the Sesame balls. :(Also the soups looked like they had sat there for a day. A thick layer was on top of it which made it look solid.
The lady who owns this place is also the sushi chef. She has been making sushi for years and has owned other restaurants. She is highly talented, creative and works quickly. The staff are friendly, patient and have food prep skills of their own. In addition to a traditional sushi menu, offerings include a full menu of vegan sushi. This is the reason why I eat here. I am never in a rush when I come here. I want to enjoy every last bite along with a cold bottle of rice wine. Thank you Asuka, for your great service and delicious food.
When I first moved to the area, I enjoyed this restaurant. But in the last 5 to 6 months things have not been good. First, I've had several orders that have not matched their online description. Things like Mongolian beef that seemed to be ground beef with celery. Second, I did an online order at 7:30 a few weeks ago, and it never showed up to my house. There was no cancellation email, and thankfully no charge, but when I tried to call them an hour and a half later when I noticed it was passed its delivery time I was unable to get through. No other information was ever sent to me. Today, I tried to go in for their Chinese lunch buffet at 3:00 and the front of house server said they would be charging me for dinner even though their lunch special goes until 3:30. There was no one seated or eating. Unfortunate for them really, they dissuaded a customer who was going to order other things on top of the buffet meal by doing so. I left and I don't believe I'll be giving them another chance.
Ate here with friends and family and we were very pleased with the quality and selections available. There were 4 of us and we all have different tastes when it comes to food and there was enough variety to please us all. The price for all you can eat is very reasonable in today's inflated economy. We plan to come here again and might even hold our 20th anniversary here.
I cannot rave about this place enough! Melanie was so warm and welcoming; we had a great chat with her about their business and herself. This is actually Sushi Lover but in a different location in case anyone is wondering what happened to them! We ate from the vegan menu and every single appetizer and roll was absolutely delicious. I highly suggest the potato cake, veggie woman, and the seaweed chips.
The sushi is fantastic! Kay Wong and family have been making sushi for my family for over twenty years. It is always excellent.
Me and my family used to eat here for years, was our favorite buffet. But they completely changed. The buffet pretty much has nothing anymore. All they serve pretty much is sushi. We miss the old restaurant back when it was called top of china buffet.
The food and service are as great as a hotpot and Chinese buffet restaurant could be. I like that we got the options for hotpot, grill and Chinese buffet. Kinda a fun friends and family dinner experience. We’re here on a Saturday but not super crowded and service was perfect.. I don’t know why some people complained about service here. Would def come here again with friends
