I stumbled upon this place on accident . After living in China for 17 and a half years and being out of the US for 25, I've had difficulties finding generally good Chinese food in Reno. There's a place in Carson City I'd like to go, but I think this is hands down the best in Reno for out there in Chinese food and friendly staff. Only downside is it's pretty expensive and I imagine for my family of five it would be nearly about $300 to eat. Great genuine food, but a little bit expensive in difficult times.
Definitely the best Chinese food I've been to, I recommend everyone to try you won't be disappointed. I will always come back for sure.
Menu says one price, order to go and they add 10 dollar extra once you come in to pick up definitely not worth it
I never expected to find such authentic szechuan cuisine in Reno, Nevada - but that’s exactly what we got here at The Wok Chinese Cuisine.If you’re truly looking for authentic chinese food, I highly recommend checking it out, but don’t be deceived by the generic name or the classic American Chinese Takeout items on the first few pages of the menu (which I’m sure also taste great if you’re craving it - which sometimes I am). But if you’re looking for a genuine szechuan dinner (numbing spice and all) SKIP STRAIGHT TO THE LAST PAGE; I guarantee you won’t be disappointed.What we got:- Garlic cucumber: super garlicky, and lips definitely started to feel that iconic numbing- Szechuan twice-cooked pork: big portions, mild spice, really great black bean sauce- Boiled fish with pickled veggies: we got it medium spicy which was perfect if you don’t want it overwhelmingly hot, and there was loads of white pepper flavour (my favourite)
It was the first time we have been there and it was delicious. It is the best Chinese food in the area. We will definitely go back.
I have lived here for 55 years and always trying different local restaurants, The Wok is a 5 on my Chinese restaurants and will eat there again soon. I cal l ed in a fairly big order as I try a bit of everything when I go. Rice, chow mein, generals chicken and sweet and sour pork was delicious. The staff was friendly, and it was 530 on a Friday night. I will be back!
Great food and nice service!! Super decent and authentic Chinese food. We all like it and definitely will come back again.
My family and I ate dinner their just last night . And the Quality was not that great and really I was not very impressed at all and the lady who was our waitress was constantly getting to close in the my face and my husband's as well and even at moments the kids even felt uncomfortable, then when it came time to pay we ended up being charged for 3 dishes and the waitress basically stole money by putting a forced tip that my husband and I did not approve of and I hate to say it but the food was low quality and over priced and the location was not that nice either. And I don't think this waitress knows the law you are supposed to leave it up to the customers if they are or not. Absolutely not recommended at all and especially if that is what they do.
Very externally unassuming we were pleasantly surprised that the food was fresh and tasty and the egg rolls are the best, Service was genuinely friendly.
