Very disappointing:*Ordered agedashi tofu appetizer and there was *one* piece - on a spoon!*The other mushroom appetizer was *one * piece - cut in half*Horrible service - unfriendly, unhappy waitress who was very slow in the uncrowded restaurant*Tried to charge us for the all-you-can-eat price when the two of us only ordered 3 rolls totalWill *not* be back
Always a good time, sushi can be a little slow when it's busy and there's no kids menu. Reasonably priced and laid back atmosphere.
Today i have bad experience, in sakana restorant, in reno nevada, i asked if i can have a shrimp and broccoli, the Seller yelling at me, and asked me to (get out of here) just Because I'm black, he is not even care about customer service. Poor hes coworkers, Kain specially was embarrassed. They told me he is the manager. But thats ok but Sakana is a Bad place in reno guy's don't go there Rasist people.
Amazing sushi in my favorite style: all you can eat! I left there so full I just wanted to go to sleep. Great selection of rolls with a good amount of diversity. The Nigeria fish to rice ratio was on point!
This place is not good. They don’t offer any sauces, charge for sides, and make you feel ridiculous for special requests. The sushi is not as fresh as others in town. Unless you live in a palace in somersett without transportation I would never ever try this place. The server actually made a comment towards my wife that is so ridiculous I will not repeat it.
Do not ever order for takeout. I've been supporting Sakana since they opened a few years back as a local Somersett resident. The sushi used to be great, but over the past two years declined badly. My recent takeout was of the specials they offer where you can pick 8 rolls for $50, then they charge for any substitution-in this case we asked to sub Ahi/maguro for salmon on a roll. The amount of Ahi was less than you would get on one piece of Nigiri rice. They only include 1 small side of Wasabi and charge you if you want more $1 each. Total out the door around $70. This sushi experience was so bad I've attached pictures to show. The rolls were basically rice with the minimum amount of other ingredients. The tempura shrimp in the middle had been cut into at least 1/4th's and looked like a toothpick inside surrounded by layers of rice. The little amounts of fish were rubbery, dry, and not fresh. When I spoke to Sakana they told me this exactly. I'm sorry we do not have the same level Sushi Chefs doing to-go orders, it is not a priority, but special for you the customer to have such a good deal. Our to-go orders we cannot make for the same quality, because we make it such a special offer to you. We must make money and cannot by providing the same quality for to-go. I was then told to try Sushimi's, or someone else in town for takeout. Worst service ever, I actually was just offering feedback to Sakana and I was not even wanting a refund--just to let them know how bad the food experience was. I will say Sushimi's was incredible, the service, and way fresher-- you cannot even compare them to Sakana's poor quality and service. There are so many other Sushi options, I highly recommend you try any place other than here. The staff inside is so rude, the owner does not care about customers. If you want to feel like you are lucky to be allowed in this dining establishment and be lucky enough to be allowed to be a customer this is your place. Beware if you leave just a fragment of rice they will argue you must pay for an additional all you can eat. Awful Awful
If I could rate lower than one star I would. The service is awful, the sushi can't even compete with Raleys, the salmon is really fishy. A few months ago they accused my barely 3 year old special needs daughter of stealing a sushi roll out from our all you can eat, because she grabbed a slice to basically play with. They threatened to charge all you can eat, my daughter is on a feeding tube from difficulties. She had no interest in all you can eat raw fist. The owners son was beyond ridiculous in handling this matter. I will never go back, and wouldn't even if they served better than old dated fish.
What a great sushi place! In a great neighborhood and staff was super friendly. We got lucky and got in at not a super busy time and the food kept coming with all you can eat. Really fresh sushi and great appetizers. We were super full but definitely going back to try more.Loved the hot saki
Our waitress was friendly and the food was great. She was very helpful in suggesting a new sushi roll to try. Was our favorite!
We've been saving to take the kids out to Sushi. Sakana didn't disappoint. We love that it's not downtown. No need to fight traffic and hunt for a parking spot when one is within walking distance. Great place to go after the lunch crowd has left. I can see how service could be slow when it's really busy. Sushi was great and the appetizers plentiful. Glad to have them in the area!!
