We always enjoy eating breakfast at this restaurant, the people working there are very sociable and friendly. The menu has a good selection. I believe a lot of locals come there for breakfast as well.
What a great menu! The food was delicious. Our first night they messed up making our desserts but it wasn't bad. The portions are great. Staff is really friendly.
The Purple Parrot at the Atlantis is a restaurant that provides a great dining experience at a moderate price. My wife and I had breakfast there two days in a row. Our food was delicious and the service was very professional. I had a Denver omelet that was extraordinary on both the days we ate there.
I’m not really sure where to start. The Asian chicken salad was pretty good, I’d order it again. My husband seemed to like the burger that he ordered, pretty basic. We also ordered the spaghetti dinner ($18). It came with not enough sauce to cover all the noodles. When we asked for more sauce, they said that it costs extra. Parmesan cheese, costs extra. Our kids didn’t like the meatballs. Our order was incorrect twice.
A dear sister in Christ brought us here in Mid May 2022. As retirees we love the fact that they are open 24 hours a day. We can come any time and void all the business folks with their ‘Power Meals’ and families with crying, unruly, messy children... as we sometimes have trouble negotiating around crowds with our canes and wheelchairs. We instantly fell in love with the elegant atmosphere, the wonderful service we have received from our petite waitress Chadra, but mostly it was a total sell out of our taste buds the instant we recovered from the very first bite enough to say: We'll Be Back! We will come back every month... rain, snow or shine. As we mentioned we are a disabled senior couple on a fixed social 'insecurity' income. We can only afford to go out to dinner once a month. Of all the places within a 100-mile radius, we pick The Purple Parrot in The Atlantis Casino in central Reno. Now about that Quesadilla... while other items on the menu have gone up in price this one is holding tight to a mere $12.00, but if you want to include some tender, savory, grilled chicken the price only goes up to $15.00. Before your food ever arrives, you are presented with your beverages of choice. We have opted out of any appetizers to make room for our heart's desire. We love the flavor of the grilled chicken! They mix in just the perfect amount of spices and Jack cheese, (and will eliminate the cheddar on request). Then alongside your dish arrives four cute 2 ounce white parfait cups filled with Pico de Gallo, guacamole, sliced Jalapenos, and sour cream. Do not wait a second to open the tortilla and fill it with those yummy filled cups, making your quesadilla over one inch high. That is right; this is all inside a lightly grilled flour tortilla, filled right up to the very edge, cheese still hot and oozing out, as well as your additions. We both have healthy appetites but we are filled fast because it is so scrumptious and need a to-go box! Even hours later (or the next day if our taste buds can wait that long), micro waved or cold... they are delicious! Do not just take our word... Go! Venture into the Purple Parrot in the Atlantic Casino... at the corner of Peckham and Virginia... and for a while at least, you just may forget that the rest of the world exists! And NO... we are not related to, paid by, or bribed by anyone at this establishment. This review was totally on our own! If we can bear it, we may experiment on our next trip and try something new from the menu. That sizzling platter of beef smelled wonderful...and as we looked on to other tables as they were served... we said in unison: "Next time.... and still order the quesadilla, and anther one to-go." This place has every good thing... James 1:17!
The server was very friendly and fast, my omelet was huge and good. Prices for a coffee is crazy $4.00 for a cup of coffee, no thanks. But this was the same in every restaurant in Reno.
The food is good, even very good, but the prices are a little high. It is open 24 hours, so you can even have breakfast at 5 AM. We had dinner and breakfast there. The steak was good but expensive (though not as expensive as the casino's steakhouse, we're told). The chicken fried steak was tender. The veggies were crunchy. However, the salad bar is not being offered yet and they didn't even note that on the menu. :(
The pancakes seemed cooked hours earlier, were almost too tough to cut through (never imagined previously that a pancake could be tough). The syrup was so congealed that you could turn the pitcher upside down and nothing dropped out, defying the laws of gravity. How many hours in advance were those little pitchers prepared? The eggs were right, the hash browns were of somewhat recent vintage, the steak was OK. I was never offered a coffee refill. Our own mistake: Allowing ourselves to be seated right at the entrance, so we had to suffer the tobacco smoke from the casino.
This is a Great Restaurant for any meal. My son and I love the Country Freid Steak. It's to die for. Employees are always pleasant. Never ran into any problems whether eating in or out. Take a walk on the wild side and give the Purple Parrot a go.
Open 24/7 you can't beat this place. Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner or appetizers there is nothing that can't be so GOOD
