I'd give this ZERO stars if that was an option. Was served by a waitress named Danielle and she gave my friend and I the worst service I've received at a restaurant in a while. Utensils were not present upon being seated at our table. When she provided the utensils and napkins, I noticed one of the forks was a bit dirty and so I requested that it be swapped out. She aggressively snatched it from my hand and gave me back another fork. Spilt coffee on the table every time she poured refills into our cups. My friend requested a straw and she just threw it on the table. The restaurant was not busy at all that day, there were perhaps 4-6 other guests inside. She kept rushing us and stopped by and said "well I see you're done eating so here's the check". We were barely there for a half hour, took a quick break from eating and were sipping out coffees and having light conversation. Now you would think that maybe they were shorthanded and she was working under pressure. Well that wasn't the case, because some of the other employees didn't seem busy at all. This woman needs some serious training on how to politely and courteously serve customers.
We love Peg’s! So many options!!! Sweet, savory, or any combination you desire…omelettes and scrambles, preset combos or build-your-own…traditional Hawaiian breakfast like my husband grew up with. Just do it!!!
Used to come here quite a bit and was usually worth the wait for a table. Recently on a Sunday and there was no wait and I quickly found out why. Prices have increased exponentially. $80 for three people is too much. I understand restaurants are recovering from the pandemic, but I personally cannot pay that much for basic restaurant breakfast.
Wow! So glad we found this little gem. Food portions were huge, OJ is freshly squeezed and you can taste it. Thank you Max for all the great recommendations and superb service. We found our new breakfast spot next time we come visit.
Normally good service. Not today. Put in our order then 20min later they come to tell me they don't have ranch for my salad. I'm sorry I only like ranch. Was too late by that point to order something different cause the other food came out for my family. So I got to sit here watching everyone else eat while I'm starving. Wish they told me about no ranch right after ordering so that I could have ordered something else. Just frustrating but it is what it is.
First time there. Food and service were great. I got the Denver omelet, it was delicious, first bite I could taste the freshness of the red and green peppers as well as the onions. We will definitely go back.
This place is great! I was very pleasantly surprised & exceedingly satisfied with the breakfast I had at Peg's this morning. I reluctantly decided to go inside with my husband because I just don't particularly like a traditional breakfast or Diner/home style restaurants. However, the food here at Peg's was absolutely fantastic! I was really surprised to see such a varied menu with selections for practically everyone from the meat & potatoes type eaters to vegetarians/ non-meat eaters like me, to those who are more diet conscious. One would be hard pressed to not find something that would work for them here. The meals are quite nicely portioned, completely appetizing & well served. The Staff was also warm, inviting, accommodating & right on top of things. I highly recommend this little hidden gem & will definitely visit here again next time we're in Reno.
We had a good experience with this location. The only issue is the decor and how old and run down it looks. Also, not as clean. I understand how busy it is, but the restaurant could benefit from a renovation or being cleaned throughout.
I have such a mixed relationship with Peg's. Without a doubt, they have great service. Biscuits and gravy are really great. However the Eggs Benedict are sad and overpriced. The hashbrowns leave a lot to be desired. I'll still come around sometimes for coffee, bacon, and biscuits and gravy. But I think there are better breakfast options around town.
Really good ? food, wait staff can be great or really bad, just depends whose station you get seated in when you arrive. As good as the food is, you can easily be disappointed with a phantom waiter or waitress they always seem to have on hand. Pegs is aways super busy, and we feel lucky when we score a table when we get there. The Joe's Special is excellent, so is the French Toast and Blackened Salmon Benedict.
