Mellow Fellow probably survives off of the ballpark traffic across the street. The atmosphere is nice and the menu enticing but when you order the food it’s below average. The Argentinean Flank Steak was awful. Honestly it didn’t taste like beef. I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt that it was a frozen steak that had been tossed on a griddle and flash cooked giving it a rubbery and odd taste. The Risotto balls were average and the burgers were just OK according to my guests. The best were the steak fries. This place should stick to basic pub food instead of trying to be edgy. Don’t ask the waitresses what is good because they’ll steer you to nowhere.
While out getting some supplies in Reno, I asked the locals for a good solid burger. They recommended mellow fellow. After looking over the menu, the Cubano sounded delish and it was!
Friendly place to grab a bite! They have creative frying abilities including deep fried burgers. I tried a regular burger with tots. Very tasty. They carry local bourbon and beers at the bar. Eureka Gold Old fashioned in a High West rocks glass! Tasty!
My buddy and I really enjoyed our time here. It was off the beaten path, away from the strange people walking around Reno on a Friday night. Seemed well kept, modern, and had a relaxed atmosphere. We sat at the bar, our server was excellent, and the food was great. That was until as I was talking to our server, I thought I saw something running across the floor from the corner of my eye. It wasn’t until our server walked away, that my buddy asked if I saw the two rats/mouses running from one end of the bar to the other. I really wanted to like this place, but knowing there’s a possible rodent infestation is off putting. Especially after we just had a meal here. Who knows what surfaces they’re walking across and getting into when this place closes for the night.
They serve food after 9pm and it's delicious! Awesome & friendly staff. Was slow when we were there, so super chill from our experience. Would definitely recommend!
Food is out of this world. Nice selection of loxal drafts. Great location to downtown Reno. Excellent bartender!!! A must go to for food and beer when in Reno
This place used to be really great. They had half the amount of beers on tap that they used to. The food they serve was also not as good. You used to be able to get a scotch egg and the food was not quite as good as the depot or centro but on that level. Now its like food you would get from flowing tide its fine just bar food. It also wasn't as clean as it had been before. Service was really good. The bar tender was really attentive and he made good reccomendations. Don't think I will be back though too much competition for good beer in our area now.
Honestly, some of the best food and beer I have had in a long time in Reno. Couldn’t leave without giving a 5-star review. Every single item we ordered was impressively good and the service was great. I definitely recommend coming here. Thank you Mellow Fellow!
First time there and I will be going back for more it great food i had the burger and salad and other guy had the French dip with fries and the boss and the soup and sandwich and he could not eat all this place its greatest we are going back for more
Cool place. Had a pumpkin Ale sorta Octobeer. Across from Aces ballpark. Try it... you'll like it!!!
