Be sure to call ahead for reservations. Enjoyed their minestrone and eggplant Parmigiano dish, melanzane. Very large portions, took leftovers back to hotel. Husband had steak topped with onions, bell peppers, marinara, and cheese. Served with polenta and veggies. He thoroughly enjoyed his meal. We got the cheesecake w/ hot fudge. Pleasant atmosphere. Ask for a table by the windows. Beautiful views.
Classic old school Italian restaurant.been here since late 40's. Big windows, great views, nice old style decor. Great bar and wine list. All the classic Neopolitan and Roman style dishes, executed perfectly. The opposite of an Italian chain restaurant. Perfect fine dining service. Water and wine refilled, plates removed, new silverware and plates brought. Smooth and unobtrusive. Most servers have been there 20 to 30 plus years and are friendly, helpful and polished. Great for all of life's special occasions, like our 17th anniversary. Prices are quite reasonable considering value received.
This is my favorite Italian restaurant in the world. Particularly the Seafood Lasagna which is a special on Friday and Saturday! Sooo good! Servers are kind, and do a great job. Bartenders make great drinks and the wine selection is very good as well. Definitely a must visit!
Beautiful atmosphere. Our table faced the mountains and it was like we were in Tuscany! Service was stellar! Have had Ruby the last two times. The sole does not dissapoint. Crisp and flavorful. The Caesar salad is fresh and you can taste the anchovy, I love it! Don't forget the Johnny's garlic bread! This is a great place for a special occasion. We took mom for her 85th!

We moved 07/21 from NYC, this came recommended and it's the only good Italian restaurant we've had out here in Reno. 9/10 becuz nothing is perfect, it's expensive for Reno but there's a reason, others may hate it. Also, a rez is a must or you're beat, unfortunate. This isn't a low-key spot, plan ahead and don't expect a table on the fly. Its the only restaurant I couldn't roll into and get a spot when I got arrived since living here, that's a good sign, there were actual Italians eating too. Shockingly, there is a real Italian population here, incredible. I'm being sarcastic somewhat because even Italian which isn't that "ethnic" is hard to find in Reno. I'll be damned to try any place recommend and this was on that list.
I have eaten at Johnny's dozens of times over the years and each time has been consistently impressive. The combination of high quality food, exceptional service, and reasonable prices keep us coming back. Always a perfect experience!
