I have eaten at all of the Reno Dickey's many, many times in the past years the restaurants have been open. Sadly I feel the hayday for the chain has come and gone. I picked up a Chopped Brisket sandwich and onion tanglers for a side. When I got home and looked at the sandwich the meat looked sad. It had the texture of meat that has been sitting on a steam table for hours. There is no telltale pink/red ring indicating the meat has been smoked, and I can't taste any smoke flavor in the meat. The brisket is supposed to be chopped and it is more like chunks. When you walk into the restaurant there's also no telltale smoke smell present (as in the past). It is doubtful I will order from food from this or any other Dickey's location again. Stick a fork in the food chain - it's done.
I've eaten at Dickeys numerous time over the years and have enjoyed the food and the service. This time I was highly UN-impressed. The quality was very off and the attention to detail was lacking. For example the napkin containers were empty on two separate tables. I understand that Covid made it difficult to find help.I did enjoy the creamed spinach side, I did not enjoy the salad side. It consisted of lettuce crammed into a small paper cup.
I would give no stars if I could. I paid to cater a party for 30 people for a surprise birthday party for my husband. I had pick up time for 3:20-3:30 pm for brisket. I got pulled pork. My party was started at 4pm. There was no time to make up the difference. And when I called to day the owner said since the pulled pork was ate they are not going to do anything about it. All I wanted was the difference of the cheaper meat returned to me. The brisket is clearly more money and they refused to give me any type of compensation.
We've eaten at this place a handful of times over the past several years, but haven't been back since last year. Normally, it has been pretty good - lean, flavorful, and worth the cost. Granted, not true southern BBQ, and certainly not in the category of BJ's or Brothers, but acceptable.Today, we ordered the BBQ pork with slaw and mashed potatoes. The BBQ was the worst I've probably ever had in my 50 years of eating BBQ. Fatty, full of gristle, and the flavor was so gross I actually gagged. We all threw ours in the trash. The sides were OK, but nothing I would pay money for. What a huge waste of 60$$! It's obvious the franchise is buying low end quality pork to stay in business. This food is borderline dangerous imo. We didn't even share it with the pets it was really that awful. So sad.
Food has definitely been better I did a pick up order and I'm right down the street..food was cold I ordered the 2 meat plate the best thing about my food was the mac & cheese the cornbread muffin was cold and hard and you pay extra for the muffin and then I payed for this Chilli brisket chip thing it didn't show up on the receipt so had get a copy of my receipt to show proof Totally disappointed with the service and food I hope the manager or the owner sees this will not be going back ever...and the store looked a mess..the BBQ Sauce station was a mess sauce everywhere And on the menu to order drinks and said they had Coke zero they don't even carry Coke zero
Constant health violations. Randomly rude manager. Tried it twice...but couldn't eat it after seeing all the gnats, flies, and god knows what else. I'd stay away from this place 100%.
The restaurant is never clean ? they have flies and gnats flying around their uncovered bbq sauce and the employees are always changing and super rude ? wouldn’t recommend this location
Excellent beverages & BBQ. Must try the fried okra and the Asiago dip. Chris is an awesome mixologist.
Even though a drink is pictured with the “plate meal”, the drink still costs extra. Didn’t know that till after I ordered and paid. Would have been an alright price but definitely over priced if you add a drink.
This is place is absolutely amazing. The staff goes above and beyond. 10/10 highly recommend if you enjoy BBQ!
