I love the location off a spring mountain at 5020 Spring Mountain The presentation and food prep is on point. The location at 7835 S Rainbow I have given it a few chances because zen curry is a fav for me and family. Just for some reason we always end up with stomach pains rushing to the porcelain throne! I’m sure I am not imagining there is an issue Please fix either the kitchens cleanliness, food prep cleanliness or the staff making the food needs better training. Do they even carry active health cards for every person in and around the hotline ?
Pre Covid we tried this place and it’s good, then we tried the one In Spring mtn we find that location much better plus a better selections on the menu. I do have a review about them too.We we’re in the area so tried this place again but very disappointed with the amount of food they serve almost half of the bowl and the taste changed the Japanese curry noodle are very watered down while noodles were sticking to each other, it won’t separate that I have to bite in a big blob. The Yaki udon was just soy saucy too salty for our taste and barely any noodles served. Karaage is descent but again the same curry sauce…. Will skip from now on.
Great Customer Service, Clean Tables, Mediocre Curry. My rice was just one big homogeneous clump of rice with no redeeming qualities, and was unpleasant to eat. The Chicken Katsu cutlet was okay, but just tasted like chicken nothing else just an abundance of chicken flavor. The curry was really good.
Zen Curry is some of the best curry in town and the Katsu is fantastic. Had the pork katsu with a croquette and the kurobuta sausage with egg and it was all delicious grub!
Honestly expected more food, barely any sauce definitely not enough for the one small scoop of rice plus the chicken katsu that was 7 pieces.... ??? 40 bucks for dinner to still be hungry. My bf n I will stick to spring mountain location. Better portions, longer wait lol
$15 for curry that tastes more like spicy turkey gravy. This is a CURRY house yet they don't even offer yellow or red curry so I tried what they do offer. This does not taste like curry at all. I ordered veggie curry spicy level 2 of 10. I like spicy food but this is so ridiculously spicy I can't even eat it. It tastes like spicy gravy. The portion of curry is also much smaller then anywhere else I've had.For my boyfriend I ordered shrimp curry but it's literally the same as my veggie curry except they put 3 pieces of shrimp over rice... He didn't like it but ate it because he was really hungry. When he finished he said he was still hungry so I offered him to eat mine. And he said no he doesn't even want seconds because it's not good. Two curry and rice costs $31. How?! And I can't even eat it! I've had a spicy level 5 be way less intense. We usually get two curry and an appetizer for that price anywhere else in town. This is honestly so irritating. This will be my first time and my last time ordering from here.
Service was ok, the food was eh wouldn’t try again.
After living in Japan for 3 years, it's so nice having a delicious Japanese curry place near by. The pork and chicken Katsu were great, and we added vegetables to the curry. Appropriately spicy for what I expected (maybe a tiny bit lower than expectations since the sign warns you that the curry can be spicy). They also have Katsu sauce on request!! I'll be back often.
Always amazing Japanese curry! It has been a favorite of mine for years now
Im not gonna cap this is the BEST curry I’ve had in my life. I’ve tried to find it in my home state and you simply can’t. Chicken katsu curry is incredible and I order from them multiple times a week! So so so so so good!! I’ve tried making it at home and simply cannot compare.
