Sorry to say but the quality on food has dropped significantly. Stopped to get patty and fetival, the festival was not fresh, not even semi-fresh. seems like it was atleast 2 days old, thrown in the side dish box and thrown in the microwave like always, other times I got the festival was edible enough but this time I will have to say a hard NO. As well the dinning room has not open back up even after covid restrictions are lifted and has started to look like a home/office are now . Mom and pops in hate to say it but I think it's time to shut down.
Welp! DO NOT COME HERE! Definitely not the REAL authentic Jamaican food I’m used to :-( everything was DRY with no FLAVOR, just hot. chicken was DRY, rice was DRY. The gravy tasted store bought. No onions or peppers in it, just dark brown. My beef patties had ZERO beef. It was like a onions and corn paste with beef flavoring. Highly disappointed!! $35 down the drain
The jerk chicken was sauced like BBQ sauce no peas in the rice and peas and the cabbage mix wasn't cooked thoroughly oxtail was good though??♀️
For the first time in my life I very much enjoyed Brown Stew Chicken, Rice and Peas, a Chicken Pattie and a plantain! Several Thank you’s to Eric [sic] and Team Tasty Island for an extremely delicious first Jamaican dining experience! I will see you again real soon!
I don’t know what happened to this place but I’d never go back. I ordered the brown stew chicken and instead of brown stew it was some type of tomato sauce. The rice and chicken were both dry. Things were better a few years ago
Food is alot of spice without asking desired level. Not too kid friendly. No dine in . Understandable, however gave us wrong sides. No plantain gave vegetables so went to waste. Again when feeding kids, details matter. Good tho.
If I could give 0 stars I would. $17 for nothing no veggies 3 pieces of goat dry and dry rice. Don't waste your time it's another place on Sahara that's much better. This new owner is no better then the old owners.
Food is atrocious, disgusting and not appealing.Most nasty Jamaican Resturant I’ve ever been to and poor customer service!!!! I recommend no body to eat here!! Picture speaks for itself and I put a one star just to make the review but you guys are a big negative
The food was really good all the food was proportioned well we’ll go again
First of all, the level of service of this restaurant degraded big time. Service sucks ! Second, I went to pickup my food and I saw the cook touching the cooked food from someone with her bare hands after handling the garbage. This is just not right, and the owners just sit there doing nothing while they have a line waiting for their orders. I will never go back and I would advise anyone buying from this place to stay away.
