I came here before for the mochi donuts and poke bowl and it was good the first time I came. The second time I came, I ordered mochi donuts and the frosting on my donuts was crumbling and falling off. My salmon poke bowl was weirdly warm and cold…. The rice wasn’t hot but the fish was warm, as if it had been sitting on the hot rice for awhile. It made me nervous to eat so I threw it away. I from Hawai’i so I love my poke and poke bowls. I definitely was disappointed because it was good the first time I came.
Craving some chewy mochi donuts? Paina Cafe is the place to go! We got one of each today and shared every piece... our favorite donut was the melon, and the lilikoi mochi. We also had the ube, strawberry, and guava donut. We got a blue donut also but couldn't identify the flavor. Each donut was $1.95, and worth each bite. We also got two 8 oz containers of tako poke and spicy ahi tuna for lunch. The poke was very fresh and delicious. Check this place out for some delicious Hawaiian treats! Happy Eats! ✌️
If I’m in the mood for poke, this is the only place I will go to. The bowls are perfection. There is no doubt that the fish is fresh and the sauces are delectable. And if you’re in the mood for something sweet they have mochi donuts and ube tarts!
Their mochi donuts are sooo yummy and the texture is so perfect! I will say that they are more of a “eat as soon as you buy” type of snack or else they get a bit soggy (which is not their fault) but still tasty! They don’t feel greasy or overwhelmingly sweet.
I only have 3 words to describe them: VERY GOOD FOOD!! The mochi donuts are a must!
The best mochi donuts and poke bowls!
Really good poke bowls, highly recommended
Came by for lunch and picked up the Spicy tuna Asian salad. Very tasty and flavorful. A little dry for me and could of used more dressing than what they provided so I'll have to ask for more. Service was pretty quick and wasn't too busy this afternoon. Loved their donuts but I'm trying to cut back on the sweets. ?
Never again. I had the mochi doughnuts brought to me as a gift. So I thought about ordering and having my roomie pick up because I am healing from surgery and can't drive. We live less than 8 mins away. So doubt this was a timing issue. My teriyaki chicken was mostly fat and skin which I had to peel off to try to eat. My roomie's katsu was just gross. Also Tons of skin which made the panko soggy. My doughnuts which I thought were going to be mixed dozen of flavors was instead, plain and tasted like fried dough.Disappointed is the best description. Was so hoping for the best especially with this being the 1st meal in 4 days.
So good!!! I got the Hawaiian Poke Bowl and Wife got the Garlic Chicken. And the Mochi Donuts are so soft, chewy, and tasty!!! Yes, we are from Hawaii and here on vacation but we still had to try and wasn't disappointed at all!!! Great place for anyone from Hawaii to get a taste of home
