This was the worst soul food I have ever tasted. My grandmother was from Louisiana and I know the difference between Salty Collards filled with broth and Collard Greens made with soul. The fried chicken tasted like old oil instead delicious tender fried chicken. There was too much vanilla in the banana pudding and no banananas to be found in anywhere! The sweet potato in the sweet potato pie was lumpy and not cooked enough and tasted awful. the cornbread patties also tasted like old oil. The rice in the red beans and rice tasted like Uncle Ben's Rice instead made from scratch. The peach in the peach cobbler tasted soiled and the dough tasted burnt. It was the worst meal! I would say the soul in the Soul Food needed to be revived because this was tasted like sorry left overs, Just dissapointing.
Pork chops are the best! Thin and fried perfectly. Not fatty. Tender to bite into. The sides have changed in taste and the banana pudding missed the mark. Giving a five star because the pork chops were perfect as well as the pancake cornbread.
I'm a Chef from the DC Area and this is not how we do Soul Food, I didn't smell anything because it's no fresh cooking that was my clue to leave but I was trying to support my people what a mistake . I so wanted to send my food back it was close to disgusting. Green Beans out the can with zero flavor LAZY!!Where's the Turkey tails or Pork Shanks . MASHED POTATOES COLD AS a drink and the gravy thin and cold no flavor . Pork Chops super thin no flavor, Corn Muffins falling apart oysters old and salty also my wife reminded me that the Red Beans and rice are better at Popeyes, there Red Beans andRice version meaning M&M was sweet and very nasty ? I boxed half my meal to go and give to the Homeless the other half I left on my plate . My wife was sooooo upset I told her just let me pay and we will get something later. We were on vacation and that was a very bad experience, she doesn't like Soul Food so this made it worst. The front staff meaning the ladies were friendly but the food was very bad , Soul Food is from the heart not the can. They heat food not cook it . Easily the worst Soul Food I have ever ate. My “seafood” gumbo. Expected it to actually have seafood but instead there was 10 wings and 4 shrimp. It was also supposed to sit on rice and as you can see in the picture it has none. I’m pescatarian and figured I could just take out the sausage if it had it but this was very unexpected. I also didn’t get one of my sides but was charged for it. They don’t answer the phone or offer refunds so I paid $25 for something I didn’t eat.

Online it says you are able to dine in or take out. When we arrived my husband was given a number and told to ONLY call when you are ready to order…huh???that was the first sign to leave but I really wanted to give out people a chance. Then when we called, the young lady who answered the phone was talking so fast when I asked her to verify that I was calling the right place, she hung up…. When I called back not one answered the phone. I guess that they had caller ID. Customer service is more important than what is being served. I will NEVER go there again. Then I started reading other reviews only to realize that this is normal for this restaurant employees to behave this way. So thanks but no thanks.
You have to really impress me to get a 4, or 5 STAR from me. I've cooked better meals for free, than some Restaurants cook daily, and get PAID FOR!

I been wanting some good soul food and was recommended this place I'm so disappointed I get home the meat loaf was reddish pink inside half cooked the corn bread dressing was dry it was like dried cornbread with gravy on top the only good was the lemonade / greens the food ended up in the trash I spent 60 dollars on trash food I will never come back waist of money and also when I called to make a complaint the girl who answered said pretty much I was lying and the food was cooked well and the pink was the seasoning and what they marinate the meat In told her I know the difference between cooked meat and half cooked meat I never had had any meat loaf that was pink unless it wasn't cooked all the way then she say you can come back and my manager will let u get something else i would not eat nothing else from this place ever yall keep that and get a better cook best in Vegas not even close
