Sunday Dim Sum! (Open-3pm Sundays only) So far its my favorite dim sum restaurant ! I went at 230pm so they had stopped cooking all but If it needs to be warmed up more, they do that for you in their over no worries and that really showed all the difference. Been here twice. First time was at noon. And everything was still being cooked freshly. All is made there by hand ✋. Their jasmine hot tea is loose leaf ? and so delicious! Thanks for being a great dim sum location, with care to quality. Thank Rio for having a great spot.
From October 2021 Las Vegas Rio KJ visit. Dim sum pretty good but push cart no vegetables. Service push cart was ok but a few times carr empty of what we wanted by the time it reached us so had to ask in advance. Don't know why the newer dim sum restaurants lack the ambiance and atmosphere of a LA or Chicago Chinatown dim sum restaurant but these upscale places seem too polished and characterless. Dim sum restaurants aren't bright lights, tall ceilings (wee if so sorta dark dingy) and decor a little more cheesy. But I guess that's what a dice roller hotel wants. Would return agIn other than it's almost 30 minute walk from the main drag so don't fo it in tge dark ir alone.
Our journey to find comparable, if not better cuisines since moving to Vegas from NYC continues. Last night we decided to visit KJ, located inside Rio Casino. We ordered fried dumpling, seafood/tofu clay pot, beef with choy sum and salt pepper pork chops. You can tell how good a Chinese restaurant is by two dishes, how they cook their beef chow fun and salt/pepper pork chop. In our case, we only tried the pork chop. Fried dumplings was served not with the the tradional soy/vinegar sauce, but, a dark duck sauce. Something that I have never had. Just did not work. The pork chop did not have the texture and had too much salt, to where we could not eat it. Ss you can see, we only had a few pieces of the pork and did not bother to doggie bag the rest. Another telling sign was how empty the restaurant was on a Saturday night. I would not repeat coming back. Our journey continues.
This place is fantastic for dim sum. The full experience of push carts and hot food. Kind waiters too. We brought some friends that had never had dim sum and we all loved it and had a great time. Plus! The cost was very reasonable for Vegas. It was about $20 pp in our party of 4. Highly recommended.
We ate here because that restaurant we wanted to eat at was closed. Have I had dim sum in a while this was a present surprise.
Highly authentic dim sum experience. Dim sum hours are limited, so make sure to check. We were cutting it a bit close to the end when we went, but the wait-staff made sure to help us rush our orders in so we didn't miss out! Very kind on their part.
Food is okay just like other Chinese restaurant. 4 start rating because its too expensive. We ordered pan fried noodles and its 16.95 and walnut shrimp 20.95 at this time of review. I hope price was more decent. It was a last minute decision to eat here because they were the only one we saw thats open. Otherwise, i will recommend other Chinese restaurant.
Food was pretty good. Meat portions were kinda small. I give 3 stars for the service. Our first plate came out in like 5 minutes. But we didn't get our rice for like another 20 minutes. Had 4 different servers come by and ask what we were still waiting for. Not the best service. And they weren't that busy at all.
In the recently reopened Rio Hotel and Casino, this was one of the few restaurants that was actually open the night we went. I have to admit I was extremely pleasantly surprised. The quality of the dumplings was superb. I loved everything I tried and I tried several. My family equally enjoyed the choices they made and I have to say that the staff, while probably a little bit overwhelmed, did great. I can’t wait to go back and try the dim sum
This is hands down the best thing about the Rio. The food is authentic and fantastic! Wonton soup is amazing. Everything fresh and excellently prepared. Just hope after WSOP leaves, this place survives or moves to someplace on the strip. I’ll follow them anywhere
