Ordered two chicken katsu plates to-go, one with fried rice substitute. I never get their katsu ever since they over cooked mine the first time I ordered it. But I decided to give it another chance cause my husband said it’s good. I was not surprised when I opened my plate. I’m not sure if they either refried it or just kept it in fryer for longer than expected or maybe the oil was old. Maybe it was the fact that we ordered it 30 min before closing. Who knows?! Regardless, the quality of chicken katsu was horrible. I would give one star but instead I gave two cause my 12yr old son seems to like it.
Super disappointed after dining our first time our food was great we countinued to try to call or make it back every Thursday for an opportunity to try their Thursday smothered pork chops special. After never being able to get through on their phone lines we'd always rush after work to try and make it in time. Tonight I made it in with my 2 toddlers and when I learned they no longer served it I asked the employee to order me whatever the 2 most popular meals were for me n my spouse to go. Super disappointed when I get home to see I paid for 2 of the same meals chicken so crunchy my kids couldn't even eat 1 of the 2 meals.
Just plain great food!??????
The teriyaki beef used to be flank steak. They switched to another cut and now it's full of fat and gristle. I'm ok paying 17 for flank steak, but 17 seems steep for whatever the new cut is.I have been going to this restaurant for years since it was only one location on Durango. I hope this is just covid supply chain issues and not the new menu.
I spent more than $70, but the staff acted like they could care less if I was there or not. Very unpleasant experience.
Decided to update my review since the owner was very nice in responding to why prices are high. Food is really good, Kehau is still a Rockstar, the portions are good, but... The price of the Kalbi is way to high, I did however find another place that has Kalbi at $15 a plate that has minimum of 3 strips. Korean chicken is good, a little longer in the deep fryer would have been better. Kalua pork was a bit dry, flavor was good though. My complaint isn't the food, just a bit high on prices.
Very rude & unapologetic when I placed a order and they were out of the item. They didn't call & could have cared less. Then when came to pick up my order, I was told to choose something or she would give me Mac salad & masubi in its place. Now someone doesn't get a dinner(they chose)! This used to be a great place....NOT ANYMORE! BEING NICE to customers goes a LONG way! They definitely need to work on their customer service.
Furikake chicken was yumm! Great portion sizes! Looking forward to trying other dishes here!
Great food, but surprisingly service was a lot better during covid. Must be the inability to hire and keep good staff. If management sees this, they should do more to keep the Aloha alive.
Great food and service, one of the best Hawaiian places on the ninth island.
