NEW OWNERSHIP so the place is now called DARLA’S. EXCELLENT southern food that melts in your mouth. I’ve been there 4-5 times and no matter what I order, my food is delicious!

Been sitting here for 1 hr and 20 minutes still waiting for the shrimp and grits order I placed. When my food finally did arrive the grits were cold and lumped together. The gravy was bland and the flavor overall was unimpressive. Unfortunately this will be my last visit to this establishment. I came here under the guide I was visiting my favorite restaurant Ms. Carols only to find out it had been switched to this establishment.

Excellent customer service, great food. Needed more selections of side dishes because they only had many and cheese, yams and greens when we visited.

My friends and I rented an Airbnb weekend vacation in Vegas. We wanted to have a casual family-style meal together without having to deal with the noise and wait of a large party at a restaurant so we asked Chef Carol to cater our dinner. She listened very carefully and we discussed our options until we came up with a crowd-pleasing menu and she did not disappoint. The food was absolutely delicious! My personal favorites were the baked chicken, mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, and cornbread but the fried catfish, and honey covered biscuits were very popular as well. I will absolutely give Chef Carol a call if we ever meet up in Vegas again.

The food here is a spiritual experience! I would say to start by asking which items on the menu they have or don't have. I got the fried catfish, yams, rice and gravy and a side salad with balsamic dressing. Y'all even the damn salad was good! The sweet tes was the perfect amount of sweet and so we're the yams. The catfish was perfectly tender and crispy and the texture was so satisfying. The rice and gravy was so savory and satisfying. My husband had to same thing but no salad and had mac n cheese and he said the mac n cheese was amazing. The chef is so sweet and kind, she went around and made sure everyone was doing well. Our waitress was attentive and consistent. We had a great experience and definitely will be going back on our next trip to Vegas!

I really was looking forward to trying the food out after watching someone else's video about this restaurant. I really had a taste for soul food. I was greeted as soon as I walked in and seated right away. The server was very nice, but she was not wearing a mask. I kept my mask on. That didn't have greens the day I went , so I ordered the cabbage as a side dish with smothered pork chop. The server told me it also comes with rice and gravy. I'm not a fan of white rice, but I was going to try it anyway. The food was delicious! I also enjoyed the ole school music. Chile, I even ate all the rice and gravy. A couple of people came in after me and the server put a mask on, but it was sitting under her chin. I didn't quite get that, and that is the only reason I didn't give 5 stars.

With all the good reviews decided to give it a try. It took a long time for my order to come out which was fine. I assumed it was cooked once you ordered. Was not impressed at all. Mac and cheese was dry. Food was over seasoned. Was charged $4 for extra gravy which wasn't even enough for a piece of chicken(absolutely insane). Must say the gravy and yams were good. Had more collard green juice than collard greens. Black eye peas were mushy. Was given a kid size drink and was charged $3. Cornbread muffin was dry. Will not be visiting again. Chef was very rude to the staff

Everything we had was absolutely delicious, perfectly seasoned and fresh. We have visited other soul food restaurants in the city and this is The Best hands down. We had to order sides to go for our leftover meats.Definitely spreading the word to all my friends and family that either live here or will be visiting. Chef Carol you did not disappoint.

Y'ALL...Y'ALL...Y'ALL!!!!! This woman almost made me cry eating her food because I'm from the South (like DEEP South, like MISSISSIPPI South) and this food made me miss my momma/grandma/mother in law/aunties/daddy/uncles, nieces, cousins friends, etc. Her fried pork chop... I don't get to eat pork chops often because my husband tries not to eat pork...A-FREAKING-MAZING...ALL her sides were amazing. Kool-aid was ON POINT! My husband's seafood platter...BOMB!!! And for those that think it's overpriced, coming from a HUGE penny pincher, I'll be honest, I thought so too until the plates came out with huge portions of meat and the food went in my mouth. The love and tenderness that this was made with is priceless, YOU HEAR ME??? Go on down there and get you some of WHATEVR she done decided in her spirit to bless you with cuz I'm DEFINITELY gonna go back to be blessed! She even came out and talked to us several times and saw us out before we left. Phenomenal woman, Phenomenal place, Phenomenal food!!!! #periodt

My Godparents came to visit and wanted some soul food and all we had to say is Miss Carol THROWS DOWN in that kitchen! BEST SOUL FOOD IN VEGAS hands down! I've been in Vegas over a year and this made me feel back home in Grandma's kitchen, even down to the music selection! DEFINITELY will be returning!
