I was recommended this place by the rental car representative. I decided to stop in and order the Jerk Chicken w/ rice and peas, plantains, and the cabbage (with some type of juice/gravy on top) and festivals bread. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. Chicken was cooked to perfection, rice and peas were good, but the cabbage was definitely not what I was use to from a Jamaican cuisine restaurant. The cabbage was delicious, well cooked, and whatever gravy juice sauce that was on top set this meal off! I hate they're so far away. If you haven't tried them yourself, stop in and you might enjoy the good as well.
So i always go here been going here before the pandemic. I always get jerk chicken white meat only. Today i paid $35 for white meat only extra large size. I usually get large white meat chicken. When they give me my sauce she say I only get two sauce with a plate. I said well I always get two but today i got extra large plate. she reply we only do two per plate so I ask for manager he give me extra two sauce. Make it make sense how do i get two per plate even if I get the small order large order or extra large order? Restaurants like these so worried about supplies cost they lose customers. I paid $35 i should get it least six sauce especially if the 50 cent. And i paid extra $5 for white meat people so petty these days. $35 for chicken? And two sauce really so i paid another $1 for two additional sauce but i will not be returning. There chicken is mediocre at best the sauce is the best part. I need sauce for there charred chicken which they always over cook and burn.
The staff was great and I love the fact that it is black owned. I don't mind spending money on good food, but in this case I spent 70 dollars for me and my husband to eat. We got the XL chicken and lobster tail meals. While my lobster tail was delicious 32.00 for that meal which wouldn't fill up a child left much to be desired. The Mac and cheese was great and I liked the chicken, but there was a piece that was undercooked. I loved the pineapple sauce, so good! The bread and plantains were not really that great. Overall I would still recommend and I'd give them another go, especially for the Mac and cheese!
This place is awesome. Incredible flavors. Family style meal is the way to go! Comes with plantains, these delicious little bun things, 2 large sides (we LOVED the Mac and potato salad) and a whole chicken for under $40. The pineapple ginger juice was delicious too. We will be back!
I had the oxtails, mac & cheese last night! And it were Delicious! I will be back!??????????
Service is terrible, food is mediocre , management not good and they act as if they are doing the customer a favor. I do not recommend this place.
Got the Jerry fried chicken, very crispy and tasteful with their sauce. The Mac n cheese was delicious.
14 dollars for 3 ala cart ribs. Not worth the price at ALL. tiny tiny ribs. 3 for 14. Also ordered an ala cart breast. Instead i got chopped up bits of chicken. Clearly part of my chicken was a leg. Maybe they ran out and thought i wouldnt notice?? Paid 28 (including a 5 dollar tip) for a couple bites of chicken and 3 tiny ribs. Would NOT recommend. Plenty of places around with better portions and better prices.
The food often tastes like it's been heated all day. Dry. Best Carribean food in Vegas but that's not saying much. I've had the Oxtails, jerked wings, sweet potato mash (really good) and bean patties.
Ribs were good, the cabbage wasn't to my liking nor prepared like I've experienced in other Jamaican restaurants in the valley. Rice/Beans were dry. Chicken plate (white meat) was cut into pieces that were parts of both (breast and wing). Worth a try IF you are in you are in the neighborhood
