Very good Hawaiian selection and great value for the portions you get. Service is a little slow and it takes awhile for them to make your food but you can say its worth the wait. They are inside the California hotel and casino but are not owned by the casino so no charging to your room.Wish they were faster but Solid 4 Stars.
Large portions. Friendly workers. Clean. VERY reasonable prices! I'm in my late 50's and my husband had to help me eat the Combo Bowl ($6.35) which was just teriyaki chicken and beef on rice. The tofu ($2.15) was topped with furikake and green onions. My husband said that there's more noodles in the Saimin ($7.70) than in the downstairs Cal restaurant (Market Street Cafe).
This place has horrible customer service issues. The line is out the door and instead of ringing up orders the cashier is busy counting the tips. They also have a sign up that reads "please Wait in line until called upon" with only one cashier, they take there sweet time doing absolutely nothing then says I will be back, gone now for another 7min, the California hotel should get rid of them.Over 20 people in line and no one taking orders. What a shame. If you are hungry and pressed for time, do NOT go here. This is also not my 1st time witnessing this.
Good food, good prices, but… you're better off standing in line than trying to call.If you're trying to put in a pickup order… good luck getting through, even when it's slow. Was keeping tabs on the restaurant, calling before the lunch rush even started, during it, and towards the end of it, on and off for 2 hours, and I'm starting to think they don't actually have a phone anymore.
I finally got here! It was on my list for a long time. I got the loco moco, spam masubi, and redonda hotdog. Ok, I really wanted Portuguese sausage, but I thought it was the same thing. My mistake, it's really just a hot dog. But, everything was very tasty and huge portions. I have some other things that I want to try here, so I will be back on my next trip! Highly recommend!
Im very picky when it comes to teriyaki sauce. This place is a place we always have to go to on our visits to vegas. That crunch on their chicken teryaki is to crave for!
I chowed my face off on the cheap. This will become a haunt of mine for sure. Great food and friendly staff
wonderfuly different, reasonably priced for vegas . everything was so perfectly cooked. all the pickled vegetables were amazing. fish was Almost as good as in Hawaii. very friendly staff. do yourself a favor and try this wonderful place.
Good food, decently priced for Vegas restaurant in a hotel & casino. There are some "outside" seating before entering but, still indoor of casino.Teriyaki combo & spicy Korean chicken for wife plus one drink = $27.84Parking cost $10 but, with lunch it's validated and free, if meal total more than $20.?Take your parking ticket and meal receipt to the hotel cashiers cage to get it validated.Only minor minus is the limited menu.
Visited the California hotel to check out their craps table and to meet a youtuber video the action. Read about this restaurant and local Hawaiian style food. Although their menu was limited, food was decently priced and tasty. I got a Teriyaki combo plate, wife got spicy Korean chicken plate. Plus a shared drink came out @$26. Not too bad for hotel restaurant. 2nd visit on Christmas eve, we came little too late and were closed.
