Food was very good and the grilled oysters were outstanding though very pricy. Service was friendly and helpful but the server was much too overworked. He was taking care of at least 5 or 6 tables plus he was doing a great deal of the cooking, too! This made it impossible for him to refresh drinks or bring a new round in spite of his best efforts. Get the staffing issues fixed and it would be a solid 5 star experience.

I had slot points to burn, it was senior Wednesday when food is available at 1/2 points so to this Oyster Bar we did travel. It was busy so we had a short wait before a table became available. My wife ordered etouffee that, per the menu, included shrimp, crab and lobster. On the opposite side of the table cioppino was ordered. Neither dish proved to be close to authentic nor did either taste very good so a return visit is not going to happen.

Everyone online raves about the Oyster Bar. I went to the one at Palace Station and it was...closed for cleaning, so I came here at Sunset Station. One would expect excellent oysters at an oyster bar. These oysters were anticlimactically small and saturated in cheese, like who does that. How can you taste the oysters when they're plastered in dairy. I definitely had better ones in the Pacific Northwest. Then many online reviewers say the pan roast is a must-try, so I did. It was basically a big bowl of cream of tomato soup with whatever ingredients you ask them to put in. I had the lobster and the meat was tough. It was probably fresh but I couldn't tell with the amount of spice they'd put in. People say they wait for hours to get into this place. One person without alcohol and the bill was $60. Um. I don't think one can solely blame this on inflation. I really wanted to love this place, but in the end I simply do not see the appeal. The service was great. Some people complain about slow service. I sat at the bar and the service was prompt and courteous.

Truthfully left this place deflated. Not a term I’d use lightly or for a dining experience, but that’s how poorly it went. Went for my wife’s birthday because she loves oysters and fresh seafood. Drove 20 minutes to the Sahara location to avoid the apparent 2-3 hour wait at the strip location. We arrived at 9PM excited for some fresh oysters and a happy dining experience.Line wait was about 20 minutes, no issue. We were seated and given water+bread and told the waitress would come by to take our order. 20 minutes went by. I had to approach an employee to ask if we could order. We were told that the bar would be a better bet to make an order. Odd, but we were still in relatively good spirits.Sat at the bar, waited for 10 minutes, zero contact, greeting or otherwise. I flagged a cook to ask again if I could order and mentioned we had waited for about 40 minutes. He told us he would in a few minutes.10 more minutes went by…I asked another person if we could please just order oysters which is what we came for. We were ready to order about 48 oysters, I’m glad I only said one dozen and a shrimp cocktail to start with.We waited another 20 minutes before they came out. Trying to keep positive, I hoped they would be some of the best we’ve had to order more and salvage the night. The oysters were one step away from making us both sick. Slight smell, off temperature, and overall taste gave us near no enjoyment due to the already rough experience. The shrimp was fine, but 5 pieces felt underwhelming as a full order.I came ready to happily spend for my wife’s birthday dinner. She was sad. I was frustrated by the unheard of lack of service to us. We asked for the check (this only took two minutes). I spent the worst $50 on a restaurant outing. Also disheartened that 2 parties in front of us and 3 parties behind us in line were actually served food, ate, and finished dining by the time we had enough. Not exaggerating when I say worst dining experience my wife and I have ever had. Had me even consider if were being targeted with actual racist tendencies because I could not fathom the near two hour wait. The workers honestly looked busy for the most part, but we were treated like ghosts.Would not go again even if it were free.Summary: arrived at 9. Absolute lack of service, as if we did not exist. Possible racism. Surely awful system. Had a dozen oysters and 5 shrimp by 10:40. They were not good. Didn’t order our main course. Left disheartened+deflated+hungry+slightly queasy.

Shrimp cocktail, clam chowder , combo pan roast ?...awesome !!Sit at the bar and watch the chefs work , it's dinner and a free show ..

The combo pan roast is amazing! Shrimp, lobster, and crab in a delicious soup. The staff is always very nice. Sit at the bar if you want slightly quicker service.

Loved this place, because there was hardly ever any wait time to sit unlike Palace Station, lately it’s been such inconsistent though… and then having a carb leg with leeches on it… was the last straw. Sorry I will not return.

Have been going to the Palace Station Oyster Bar for over 20 years but heard this is the same and no wait! They were right. No wait on a Sunday afternoon and the combo pan roast and gumbo were exactly the same! It is a 20 minute drive from the strip but it’s worth it instead of me standing in line for 2+hours. This one isn’t open 24/7 like the Palace Station one but that isn’t an issue for me. The casino is less crowded and more spread out too which is nice.

Located inside Sunset casino, atmosphere of restaurant is inviting and engaging, where you can sit at the bar and watch the cooking and the game. If you ask the chef and locals, the pan roast is a must try! The seafood is thick and fresh, and servings include a very healthy portion. Oysters were decent, middle of the road on meatiness and full flavor. Would bring visiting, out of town guests to try!

Love this place. Amazing seafood and customer service!
