The food was pretty good. Kinda pricey for some of the items (salsa nachos) but I will still give them another try.
The food was delicious even compared to big Mexican restaurants! Carnitas tacos were great, you get a lot of food for your money. The tables and floors could have been cleaned off is the only down side. Definitely will be going back!
It was the first time I stopped by to get some local Mexican food. I ordered a super burrito which is the biggest one they have. It was truly humongous size burrito. My meat choice was carnitas. Unfortunately all of the ingredients, that the burrito came with, were meshed with lots of beens. I would say it was 70% of beans and 30% of everything else. Next time I will try to ask for no beans in my burrito. Because of the huge size, I still think it was a good meal. I believe it was about $12 per burrito. Also I did have to ask and pay extra for the chips, because apparently it was not part of the meal. The salsa that came with the chips was so hot and spicy, that I was not able to eat it. I'll try it again but it was below my expectations.
Amazing street tacos. They must be 5-6 inch tacos, bigger than a regular street taco. Lots and lots of meat. I was stuffed after 3 tacos. I'll be back for sure.
Great food and nice workers. It takes awhile to get your food but it's really hot and fresh when you do get it. Highly recommend Rivas Mexican grill.Food: 5/5
This is the best Mexican food in Carson City hands down. The food is seasoned, the salsa has spice, and there’s the convenience of the drive through. Mi casa, too has nothing on this place. The closest thing you will get real Mexican food. If only I had found this place sooner!
One word: Carnitas.Not too salty, not too bland. A lot of Mexican restaurants in this town salt their carnitas to the point you thought they were marinated in the dead sea. Not at Rivas. Well balanced seasoning, good quality. Come here.
EVERYTHING on their menu is AWESOME. The drive-thru is a little slow, but only because it's soooo busy, and the food is freshly made, not frozen and re-heated stuff. Whenever I get sick, which is often, I have my husband go and get Menudo from here, and it ALWAYS, ALWAYS helps me feel better. Plus, I said it's DELISH already, right? It bears repeating, REPEATEDLY. The tortas are perfect. Not like other places, the bread is the perfect thickness, toasted correctly so as to be just the right texture, not rubbery or too hard. And, OMG, the CHILES RELLENOS ARE TO DIE FOR!!! Literally it's like each bite is the divine balance between slightly spicy, creamy, savory goodness that melts in your mouth. The Horchata isn't that nasty, grainy, too sweet stuff. It's a sweet, creamy, just a hint of cinnamon, cold concoction they must make from scratch because it is 100% better than any Horchata elsewhere. The pricing is just right, esp considering the portion sizes and how good it is. I TOTALLY RECOMMEND STOPPING BY AND EXPERIENCING THE AWESOMENESS RIVAS MEXICAN GRILL IS.
Holy guacamole this place has some of the best Mexican food outside of California. Too bad it's a chain, but the local taco shops need to take some notes from this place. Love the drive thru option, and you won't blow up your toilet like Taco Smells. I love this place. Too bad they don't have this in Reno
