What a treat! Drove all the way down to Carson City to get a Driver's license renewed. I have been to a lot of Black Bear Diners in various States. This one is in a hotel. They also had some slot machines. The restaurant itself was not highly decorated, however, the service and the food were exemplary.
Delicious food! Awesome service! Ordered chicken and waffles - the waffles were amazing, fluffy, and moist. The chicken was delicious and flavorful also. Boys ordered omelets and both were great. Well seasoned and hot if the griddle. The berry spritzer was good. I wish they had a larger straw because the seeds would get stuck in the straw. I blew bubbles in the drink to get them out. The boys laughed!
Hated the smokey environment, unfortunately the restaurant is right next to a casino. That being said the staff was friendly and had a large party sat very quickly. The menu is large and covers all of the basics. I had scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage and pancakes. By far some of the best pancakes I've had in a long time. They're made with sweet cream, this was a winner. Everything else on my plate was hot and cooked as asked. The waitress was efficient and everyone said they were happy. I thought the value of my food was very good. I'll be back.
The tri-tip dip sandwich was good. Service was a bit slow. But the staff was nice. Overall the experience was good.
We shared a delicious pot roast plate. We ate our fill and left a lot on the plate, much to our chagrin. Really amazingly tasteful and satisfying .I highly recommend this B B D for the great food, service and nice quiet atmosphere.
Their breakfasts are amazing with HUGE portions on large oval plates. I had a variety of meals during my stay at the hotel they are in. Each one was large portions, quality ingredients and very delicious! They don't over salt on any dish and the ingredients are high quality. While they are in a casino, sitting in the back I didn't notice smoke hardly at all. The waitress we had was very attentive and kept checking on us and keeping our water cups filled. Vic who is the general manager, came to our table with our food and made sure we were more than satisfied.
Food was great and the portions were good. Price was right, but my waitress had to go back to prep right after delivering our food and gave us bill. So our experience was cut real short and no refills on coffee because of it
The food was taking a little longer than expected. The server addressed the issue, in a professional and polite manner. After explaining the staff shortage , I was understanding for the delay. The food was great, generous portions, and especially loved the fresh squeezed orange juice.
Absolute splendid experience at the Diner! Our waitress, Elizabeth, was a splendid individual, doing a splendid job! The Volcano breakfast is a fantastic meal experience, and my friend had the chicken and waffles, said that the meal was absolutely divine! 10 outta 10, will still continue coming here again.
We had dinner at the Black Bear diner in the Federal hotel in Carson City, NV. I don't believe I have a salad as fresh unless it was at home. It was obviously prepared after we ordered. Our meal was not only a large serving but was absolutely delicious! Our server, Enrique, was pleasant and very professional. This is a very favorite restaurant.
